Got my bluetooth working in my SLK320

Argos blutooth works great with my Cingular MPx 220. I will try it with my Verizon E815 when it comes in. Took me 15 minutes to install in my SLK320. The hardest part was configuring the phone. It sounds a lot better than my Mercedes phone system in my SL500.

Look at the Argo system. That is all you need to get any bluetooth phone to work in your car.

Check the last few pages of the "Finally: MB's own Bluetooth" thread.

Thanks for the update. Hows it function?

I spoke to EIS, they said nothing for the MOST based cars until at least mid 2006.

The only issue I have is that it takes about 2 minutes to try to upload the phone boot from my Cingular MPx 220 when you turn the car on or the cell phone on. After it fails, it will allow you to make and receive calls.

There has to be a way to disable the phone book upload if the cell phone book is not compatible with the Mercedes Command system.

Is it required to have an optional MB phone kit installed for Argos to work?

Argos will work with most Motorola bluetooth phones. You do not need the optional MB phone.

I am using my work cell phone from Cingular and my personal cell phone from Verizon.

I believe only the Argo EIS system is required. You don't need the phone kit anymore. I thought $850 was a little expensive, but since you don't need the phone kit (PSE, etc) then it's a fair trade in value. Finally...bluetooth in MB without the puck.

can't wait until they release one for 2005 CLK.
Tiggerfink, if you get the chance, more pictures would be great.

I am no expert in the Mercedes phone system. I just know that the Agros system will work in cars with D2B.

Take a look at this link and see if your car can use the Argos system in your car. http://www.eiskits.com/MB.html

What type of pictures you want to see? Look at the download for the e-class. It is exactly what I did for the phone pairing. Take a look of my pictures of configuring the fiber ring. I had to configure the fiber connectors for a phone, because my SLK never had a Mercedes phone.

I hope to be done with the installation by Tuesday, because my wife took my car for her trip. So I am trying to figure the best way to mount the Argos device. I will have pictures of that later.

Just moved my ARGOS from 1999 C280 to 2001 SLK320. Had to re-configure the Fiber optic (DB2). Had CD Changer in the trunk (Right side) - DB2 looped from Head Unit to CD player. On CD player side, there was fiber to left side (where Telephone DB25 connector is behind panel). changed DB2 "out" from CD Player side to go to Telephone side. Then pulled Head Unit and reconfigured DB2 (replacing return from CD Player to be return from Telephone).

NOTE: By shining an LED Flashlight into "white" side of Fiber cable, you can see the corresponding "Red" end glowing - so you can verify complete LOOP of DB2 fiber optic cable (before putting everything back together.

Worked perfectly (just like it did in the C280)!

I SURE wish EIS still made the Argos (I have two other Mercedes I'd like to install one into).

If anyone has an old ARGOS they want to unload, let me know.
