Hi all, new poster, but I have been surfing the forum for awhile.
Question is about the verison V710, is this compatible or does it have to be the MB v710 version that will be compatible with the v60 puck? The first post lists the phone as "MB v710". Sorry if this seems obvious to some. Thanks.

Since the Treo (or the blackberry) won't download phonebook, how can you use the VCM to dial by voice command?
Thanks
VCM doesn't use the phonebook number. You will need to program the name(voice) and the number into the memory of the VCM

Needs to be the MB version of the V710. If you want to use a retail handset, Verizon E815 is also okay.

How do you get that software version on your Verizon RAZR? My Software version says GATW_01.0F.02 any thoughts if this will work?

Since the MY 2005 introduction of MHI/UHI, MB has been opening up their hands-free system more and more to normal retail phones (non-MB custom phones). As far as your .02 software is concerned, it will work but it will have some intermittent issues. The later Verizon RAZR .03 level is much better. Try putting the hammer down at your local Verizon store and see if they will swap out your older phone for a new one.

The newest software for the V3c is .04 now. Faster menu and if you update from .02, you'd still have OBEX feature. But I don't know if the puck use OBEX to transfer or just AT Command like the others.

The Puck also uses AT commands. I know the .03 load works fine with the Puck but has anyone tried the newest .04 flash yet?

These phones are like black magic to me !! I am contemplating having Steve install the UHI kit on his sweep thru the states...but I have a Nextel PTT/Motorola i730 and I'm not sure if it will work with the kit.....I can always swap out the work phone but I need that PTT feature. Any ideas as to what I am going to need as an upgrade ? I am on the fence with the kit until I learn more. I am having Linguatronics installed so I really want the kit but need info !

From everything I have heard so far, PTT is not supported by Bluetooth but normal phone calls are. If you get a PTT call, you'll still have to use your handset. Normal phone calls should be okay.

I believe that PTT calls are similar to SMS messages or some kind of data packet transmission so the system doesn't know how to handle them.

Anyone have experience with Nextel phones on the MB Bluetooth systems?

Brian, Would your system work in my car? It came w/ Startac phone, voice recognition, CD changer, etc., and I use a Motorola V3 RAZR now. The phone system in my car is useless as is.

Whichever one is available (1 of 5)
I have been using my MB-V60 phone in my 2004 W211 for about two years now. Recently I heard that the V60 BT puck is now available, so I ordered one from AWS for around $325 (I think...). Beside the MB-V60 phone with Verizon, I also have the new Motorola Pebl with T-Mobile. I removed my MB-V60 from the cradle, inserted the BT puck, after a few seconds, the phonebook numbers from my Pebl were downloaded/uploaded into my command system. I tested a few numbers, and it seemd to be working fine. I then remove the BT puck, inserted my MB-V60 phone back into the cradle. After a few seconds, the numbers from the Mb-V60 phone were loaded into the command system.

I did not have anytime to play with the system further, but so far I am pleased with what I got.

Confirmed:

Nokia 8801 works perfectly.

Phone has a specific profile for the car, does not use headset profile. It auto downloads my phonebook and connects when I enter the car. It even takes my current ringtone and plays it thru the speakers

P.S. My service provider is T-Mobile

The V60 is not a bluetooth ready phone. You need to remove the V60 phone from the cradle and plug in the bluetooth puck (I bought mine from AWS). You must have one of the bluetooth compatible phones from the list posted in this thread. You must pair the compatible bluetooth phone with the puck plugged into your s55's V60 cradle. Then you can use your commander system to dial out, receive calls, etc.

Redbud, can you post the firmware version of your Nokia 8801 phone? I believe you need to enter *#0000# to get view it.

Can you also comment on the battery life, especially when you use Bluetooth?

Cannot wait to get this phone now that T-Mobile picked it up.

Motorola Q

I just got my v60 puck and Motorola Q yesterday. After crossing my fingers, it seems to work great! Phonebook downloaded (limited to first 100 like the v60), caller ID came through, just no switchover for call waiting, no SMS. So:

CDMA (Verizon):
Motorola Q (3, 4, 5, 6)

[THE MORE NUMBERS ON THERE, THE LESS FEATURES IT SUPPORTS]

KEY:
1. No PhoneBook Download
2. No Call List Download
3. No 3 way
4. No SMS Download
5. No DTMF Tones
6. No Signal Strength Indicator
7. No Speed Dial

For 100% assurance you need a handset with software level listed on www.wireless4mb.com. Otherwise, you'll have to experiment or keep checking this forum.

Results have been good so far with V3c RAZR (CDMA) for Verizon. I'm not familiar with the Metro PCS version but at least you know that the CDMA RAZR for Verizon works successfully.

I would assume that the CDMA (Verizon) and the GSM (Cingular) versions have differences between them...though those differences may not necessarily affect AWS compatibility.

There are major hardware, software, and network parameter differences indeed. Both versions however, implement Bluetooth 1.2 profile in a way that is fully functional with the MB Puck and the MHI Bluetooth Interface Module.

If you are shopping for service by choosing a phone model first, the GSM RAZR is the better mobile right now.
