aftermarket speakers with amp install...
Hey everyone, im looking for some guidance and advice on this...
im looking to replace the standard speakers for these speakers into the 99 ml320...
http://www.strathfield.com.au/ViewPr...sp?ProdID=1461
Is this a good choice of speakers?
And i was hoping to run them through this amp, which i already have...
http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/pn...etailComponent
I have had this amp for quite a while... is it still good?
Should there be too many problems with this install... im already having a JVC cd deck installed on monday, its a 50watt x4 deck...
plus would this kinda install give me good bass and sound... i dont want to install a subwoofer as it would be space consuming. Main aim is BASS without compromising sound
Obviously i would have a professional install this as i have zero experience in car audio..
Any help would be greatly appreciated

Here is a list of speakers recommended for your vehicle by Crutchfield (there are obviously other brands that they don't sell):
Component Speakers

Full Range Speakers

I installed Boston Acoustic full range speakers in my C36 and I am very pleased.

Choice of speaker is a personal decision. Everyone has a different ear for what they like. Have a listen to them on the sound board against the other choices. If you like them, then buy them!

well what i am actually trying to ask is, is it worth running these speakers through an amp such as mine or simply run it through the deck? will i hear a significant difference in the sound and bass?

If u want plenty of bass with just door speaker, u'll need to pick a good speaker, prefferably a split (tweeter, midbass and crossover) in 6.5 inch size. In most cases, amplifier driven speaker will sounds much better compare to head unit driven. The most important thing is to correctly dampen your door, mercedes door is a good one to start with, you can improved it by sealing the service holes (if they haven't been sealed already). Looking at your amp, it has ample power on bridged mode at 4ohm, should give u plenty of headroom.
