Wiring Harness and aftermarket HU
I have a '03 CLK500 with this HU:
Can someone tell me what type this is? Audio10??
Anyway, I just want to confirm if this will work with The Metra Model 701784 and the AI VWH1004. I'm going to order these two parts and the Metra mounting bracket. I bought this car used, and it doesn't even have a CD player or CD Changer, just a crappy tape HU.
Any help would be great... thanks!

You shouldn't need any kits if you go to the CD version (Audio 10 CD). Its plug and play. You might want to check the classifieds for one and then the forum for R & R instructions. They are simple. Some members reported being able to do it in less than 1/2 hr.

Thanks for the quick reply. I will be replacing the crap HU with a aftermarket HU ...touchscreen 7" dvd player. Just need confirmation on the wire harness before I buy it online.

if you go aftermarket, and you have BOSe, then you'll have to replace the factory amplifier or run the speaker wires from the trunk back to the head unit.
