New Bluetooth Module

Cutting through the melodrama, my dealer's parts manager related that MBUSA is offering a new BT adapter for the US market, and I'll be exchanging my existing unit for the new version in about a week! He also related that he couldn't order the older version of the adapter and that it is also on BO.
The P/N for the new adapter is 6 7 87 5878, and I was told that the part is currently on backorder, tho' it's likely due to many of the dealers will be receiving the new part as standard issue. Also, the newer device should support the newer SAP Profile and the older Motorola (HF Profile) protocols. I have a copy of my order invoice with the new BT part number right in front of me!
I'll post an update when I get the part.
Hopefully it will work better with my Treo 650.
What i meant when i said they'd make it work was that they are going to trade mine out at no charge for the new part. as they should, if they can't offer me an upgrade to the software...come on wireless4mb, this is 2007!

There is a an old and a new part number for the Bluetooth Dongle in the US. They are:
B6 787 5878 (new USA)
B6 787 5839 (old USA)
B6 787 5838 (EU)
I have confirmed with Auto Wireless Solutions (www.wireless4mb.com) that the new version / part number of the bluetooth adpater (B6 787 5878) has indeed been updated for "better compatibility with a wider range of phones." All of the new units are on nation-wide backorder (900 units for customers, 1500 for MB dealers). If an MB dealer has a bluetooth unit in stock, it's an old version (B6 787 5839) with the old firmware. AWS indicated that they will have the new version before the dealer network gets them (by about a week). I have one of the new units on order with them; it's supposed to be here on Monday. We'll see how well it works.

Is there any chance I might be able to trade in my old Bluetooth module that I purchased from AWS for this newer version??? I really need the newer version so I can get a newer phone, but Im not sure its worth the extra $$$ if I have to get a whole new one. Ebaying the old one wont bring much now that new ones are out.

on the other question, my dealer has agreed to swap my module out. I would imagine this is not going to go well with MBUSA if many people try to swap, but they should've made it work the first time...
I doubt there will be some kind of trade in or rebate. I was just kind of hoping.
I agree they are IDIOTS over there. Reminds me of telemarketers...young employees with little training, ignorant supervisors, told to keep to the script...etc...

PHONEBOOK, VOICE CONTROL, EVERYTHING>>>
How is the voice quality and volume on your end and the other end?
Do you know what the list price is for the new module?
My dealer isnt being so nice about it, so Ill probably have to buy a new one.
Voice quality is great-NO ECHO...I was talking to my wife and she was on her MB Phone system as well (two speakerphones) and it was flawless. I think maybe Pieker has finally done it.
I had the BT setup installed in my 99 E class and I currently have a Blackberry. The echo is #1 complaint from everyone I talk to and the #2 complaint that I have is I can not get the volume louder.
Does the new BT dongle remedy those problems?
Basically I have had to stop using my unit as I can not conduct business with the current set up.
Mine just started working with the new module's arrival yesterday, so i can't compare to the previous MHI module, but i have no echo.

UHI, or MHI?
Bluetooth module, or V60 adaptor?
I hope they offer some sort of upgrade option for us early adopters.
