oh, incidently, a mate of mine works at MB and has managed to locate a Star Diagnostics CD but is dated Sept 1999...I haven't looked at it or aquired it myself yet but wondered of this would do it software wise?
Eitherway, I'll hold out for the Dr Rs work...

As I was busy and out of country ,
I could not have a chance to try Andy's hardware and
Richard's Linux software , though they were ready .
Anyway last week I was in Tokyo and got some information
about how to remove the TV interlocks of Mercedes Benz.
One company called INSPIRE TECHNOLOGY introduced
a kit which can remove the interlocks of recent MB models .
Price is 59,800 Yen (plus sales tax : see the picture) . Another kit for the old models is less than 30,000 Yen.

BTW, SL 2004 has auto folding exterior mirrors capacity when lock car and SBS stop and SBS hold, do you think would be possible to update this features in our SLs?

Hi NightSea, A long time we haven`t news from you. I could disable tv interlocks on my new S class sending my unit to Megacomm in Germany. Now, I need to disable tv interlocks on my new SL 350 but I don´t want to dismount my comand unit from my car because is more difficult than S class, that is the reason why I need despairingly a divice like Richard´s one, but seems doesn`t come yet.

Until now, I did not find an expert on Linux who be able to disable tv interloks with Andy`s hardware. If you have any clues, please tell me.

Like you , I am poor at Linux , but one of my men is good and
he made it for me. So personally I don't have any clue now.
(My job is far from electronic field. Only hobbist.)
2. Regarding auto folding , I believe if you add a small electronic
kit to one of small box covers behind the seats , you can get it.
My idea is this:
When you lock the car , as I understand that covers locks
automatically simutaniously . I know there are two lines
at each cover (One is an electrical line , the other is
a vacuum air line to close-lock- the cover.)
If you add a small relay swith to that cover ,
and that relay is connected pararelly with the present
swich contacts which folds and opens side mirrows,
the mirrors can be fold when the doors locks.
But I am not sure whether my idea is correct or not.
Japanese kit is said to remove the interlocks of the following models(for the other old models , there is cheaper kit.)
S class W220 '99¢¦'02
CL class W215 '99¢¦'02
E class W210 '00¢¦'02

Hello,
I just read all 14 pages of this thread. Did Richard ever get his $200 unit working?
