Just upgraded to EURO COMMAND
To all of you who post on these boards I want to extend a big thank you. I have been reading these posts since 2000 when I bought my first W210 98 E class and I can’t begin to tell you how informative and helpful this board is. I remember when my air mast failed on my 98 I didn’t panic because I knew to expect it thanks to you. So now I want to give a little something back..
I now have a 03 W211 and a few days ago it was upgraded from an audio 50 to a Euro Command NAV/DVD with a CD Changer. By reading these posts I found out that an upgrade was possible, so first I went to my local dealer who said he could do the upgrade. He offered me a basic NAV/ SAT with no changer for an astronomical ridicules price and I almost bought it from him, until I read about MB Doctor. I called them and a guy named JOEL took my call. He gave me a price that was so much far better than the stealers price at my local Benz shop. This MB Doctor is the real thing, I watch as Joel did the 40 minute installation and realized that I could have done it myself but his deal was too good to pass up. He was very professional and knowledgeable he explained everything I needed to know including how to do it myself, and believe me the installation is easy, for all you who think you can do it I am here to tell you YES YOU CAN. If you are in the TRI State and want a fast and professional job I would call MB Doctor, I did and I am glad I did. I now have a DVD, NAV, and a 6 disk changer with the latest version of the NAV DVD disk. It's like having a brand new car, I love my car even more .

I second that... the MB doctor has been a huge help to me with Comand/MCS upgrade, replacing a Navigation drive, and a factory cell phone set. I highly recommend him. His prices and technical help are great.

hey, i was a bit confused i see alot of the MBdoctor stuff on ebay. i know you get the comand with tv/dvd, but do the Euro comands also provide the US navigation? I was under the impression you needed more than just the unit for navigation.

I want to say that the dealer's price quote for just a plain Navigation installation with the Nav drive, trunk liner, updates , all cables and wires
was $3,300, I got all that plus DVD and CD changer for far less. Sorry if I am being a little vague. As far as xenon is concerned, I don't know, but he said he can do all repairs on Mercedes Benz. Look up the number and ask him, I found him easy to talk to and do business with. I was a little skeptcal at first but once I met him and saw the way he worked I knew I made the right choice .

sorry newbie here - i am gonna call mbdoctor tomorrow for the pricing... I would be willing to drive all the way to NY from DC if he can do the job for a reasonable price...
But what is the difference between the euro command and the US one ??
Also will this new command radio play DVDs and MP3's... If it plays DVD - will the DVD work while the car is in motion ?
I also want to do the CD changer.... I understand the CD changer plays MP3s for sure.....

I will def. get the EURO command system.... Would love my radio to play DVD, CD and MP3....

BTW - anyone know if this euro command has video out or if its possible to tap a "video out" wire from it...
I dont want to extensively mod my Mercedes like I did to my Chrysler - but its always good to know...

If your Euro COMAND has the 25 pin connector on the back you can output video to an external monitor.
Eurologics (http://www.eurologics.nl) has a connection set which plugs into the 25 pin connector of the 211 COMAND and converts that signal to an ordinary video Composite signal. Ask for the article IF-MB-06.
