COMAND Control unit does not turn on
1) A loose fiber optic connection at one of the components (one of the most common causes, and the easiest thing to fix).
2) A blown fuse affecting one of the components on the fiber optic loop.
3) A bad component on the loop that needs to be replaced.
4) A bent, crushed, or broken fiber optic cable.
The phone bulletin (that's not a mistake) for your car at http://home.earthlink.net/~phdwebsit..._bulletins.htm will help you to determine what equipment is on the fiber optic bus, and where to locate it. The fiber optic cables are bright orange (or yellow, in some cars).
If it is a fuse, the fuse diagram is usually found in the tool kit in your spare tire well.
