COMAND Control unit does not turn on

COMAND Control unit does not turn on

I am looking for help on my 2004 E55 COMAND. It will not turn on anymore. When I turn power on, it will show the Mercedes-Benz logo and disappear right away. There are no light any where on the COMAND. Please help...

That is symptomatic of something being wrong on your fiber optic bus.

1) A loose fiber optic connection at one of the components (one of the most common causes, and the easiest thing to fix).
2) A blown fuse affecting one of the components on the fiber optic loop.
3) A bad component on the loop that needs to be replaced.
4) A bent, crushed, or broken fiber optic cable.

The phone bulletin (that's not a mistake) for your car at http://home.earthlink.net/~phdwebsit..._bulletins.htm will help you to determine what equipment is on the fiber optic bus, and where to locate it. The fiber optic cables are bright orange (or yellow, in some cars).

If it is a fuse, the fuse diagram is usually found in the tool kit in your spare tire well.
