Help with phone cradle A211 820 14 15
Need a new or used Nokia phone cradle part number A211 820 14 51 for my w211.
One of the pins is broken and 'micro surgery' doesn't really appeal.
If anyone has ideas where I can get one at a reasonable price PLEASE let me know.
Thanks

tried eBay. All the cradles listed are for a different part number which doesn't have the integrated wiring (my one predates them).
Don't want to re-wire the car as I have the viseo bluetooth puck system which works perfectly (instead of a 6210) except that the broken pin makes connection to the car unreliable.
Open to any suggestions, thanks.

If you are using ViseeO, then the Nokia car kit 99 cradle would work even better (you would lose the handset option as with the original MB part but I assume this is not available with ViseeO anyway?).
You do not need to rewire the car at all. Just use the Nokia cradle instead of the MB one. The connector on the Nokia cradle is different, or was it pin assignment but it works fine with the MB OEM kit and wiring otherwise. I have actually had this same MB kit in my past W211 but on the car before that I did use the Nokia cradle when I did a phone kit retrofit.
But why not order a spare part from MB, or is it too expensive? Would be better in the sense that it would keep everything as original, looks better.
By the way, you had written the part number incorrectly, just to note if you order a new one from MB.

Not sure but I'm afraid these bulletins cover US phone kits and this one was a European kit.

The ViseeO works just like an integrated phone with my Nokia 6500. The phone and phone book are integrated and operated via the steering wheel or COMAND.
I do want to keep it like OEM hence the need for a new cradle.
MB want over $400 for a new cradle.

How is the part number wrong??? That's what the sticker on the cradle says.

So many have changed to UHI, I would assume you find the OEM part from eBay, if you cannot fix your connector pins.

The Nokia after market car kit cradle (I don't mean the whole kit but just the cradle part where you insert the phone) would give you 100% the same OEM functionality, the looks would be different.

I have taken the cradle apart but can't see a away to replace the connector pins without unsoldering the circiut board - a task way beyond me.
Again thanks.

Unfortunately all the eBay cradles I can find are a different part number. They have a cable that plugs into the cradle and can be detached, at the cradle. ie the cradle is separate to the connecting wiring. Mine isn't. The connecting wiring is integral to the cradle and has the connectors shown. It would be impossible to rewire correctly onto the circiut board in the cradle.

I had a look at EPC for alternative part numbers. At least A211 820 00 51 should fit, but this has been replaced with your current part. Could be that there are some issues with the older part.
If you are quick, the bid for this ends in two hours:

Yes I guess most of the cradles at eBay are for the UHI setup and you have the pre-UHI kit. No way to use those cradles. The Nokia kit cradle would have a system cable and the coax, with an adapter that would be electrically 100% compatible but physically different.

I guess you were worried about using English language. So far I have not found one German eBay seller that would not speak (read and write at least) perfect English.

Well, I found him!
Emailed the seller - all German reply. I could make out that he wasn't going to send the part to Australia!

Too bad, many only send to a German address but a German reply was odd. Perhaps he would have replied in English if he had been willing to trade... ![Confused](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/confused.gif)

By the way, I'm searching from www.ebay.de from the subcategory "Auto & Motorrad: Teile" and using the German search words "Mercedes Nokia" or "W211 Nokia" ![Smilie](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)
I don't know why I cannot find these with the MB part number.

I missed out. Will have to sit up one night to stop being out bid.
I will use the search you tried.
Thanks, you've been very helpful.

![Question](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/icons/icon5.gif)
Hello DIESEL BENZ
I realise this is an old thread - I found it trying to search some info.
I have a 2002 w209 CLK320 that had the Nokia 3210i cradle fitted in the armrest.
Anyhow, the original cradle is gone!
I would like to use a regular Nokia Aftermarket Cradle 99 as you suggest above - BUT I'm looking for the cable / pin / wiring diagram to connect the Nokia 99 cradle to a RJ45 plug ?
(as you know, the plug on the old Nokia Universal 99 kit Cradle is not a RJ45 - so I'd cut off the Nokia connector and crimp on a RJ45 - BUT need the pin diagrams.
Anyone who can help - provide this info - please?

You do not need to rewire the car at all. Just use the Nokia cradle instead of the MB one. The connector on the Nokia cradle is different, or was it pin assignment but it works fine with the MB OEM kit and wiring otherwise. I have actually had this same MB kit in my past W211 but on the car before that I did use the Nokia cradle when I did a phone kit retrofit.
