If you say so.... order one from both of us, open the box, and then tell me everything comes from Mid-City. We do work closely together, but not everything for the Mercedes Remote Start setup we send out comes from them.

Ok, it is now April and even though we are no longer in the season of winter I would still like to know the status of the W202/W208/W210 kits.

we are close (and i know you've been patiently waiting..).. basically we are releasing new product in the following order: sprinter vans (happening next week), then W220/W230 (release approx 2nd week in march), then W163 (end of march), and finally the DAS2 variants which have been pushed to april..
basically the holdup has to do with the method which has to be used to deal with the key encryption... there are some legal/patent issues which we need to make sure we are protected on before we can go through with the official release and unfortunately legal research takes alot of time...
but fear not... we are working dilligently

some of the early mercedes with the switchblade key can be done using a standard remote start product (like the W163: 1999-2005 ML) but it requires that you provide a key that gets mounted under the dashboard in a box to allow remote starting... the problem is that a thief can break into the car and remove the key from the box and then use it to steal your car... Also the W163 vehicles in particular have this annoying problem where sometimes when you remote start the vehicle and then get in and turn the key to drive away, all programmed keys get erased on the spot.. a number of unlucky W163 owners have had this happen and had to pay $500 for new keys.. (This is why we decided to design a new system for the W163 vehicles that does not have this problem and also does not even need the additional key under the dash).

Got the mid-city remote installed on our 2010 GLK. Works great, same remote distance as the key.
If $1500 is reasonable for the unit installed then it was reasonable. I thought it was supposed to be a simple plug and play install so somebody is obviously makign some $'s.

it's only money.... it comes and goes...
GLK's and C class are a pain in the ****, you either feel like a brain surgeon or proctologist doing it... I have designed special tools to facilitate the installation easier through the column gap...

Depends on the season
I run the first tech piece along with the drone mobile so I can start it from anywhere in the world and lock/unlock doors, trunk. Works like a charm. Paid under 800 for both pieces...I also have a hookup though lol
