I'm looking to get and ipod connection kit installed and was wondering if you folks can tell me what you would suggest I go with and prices paid for your installs.
It would be going into an 05 CLK500 with the audio 20 (No COMMAND) radio with 6 cd changer which I would like to keep.

I've tried the FM transmitters but didn't like the sound quality or the fact that you can't find a station you can use for more than 10 -20 miles.

I would also appreciate you comments on the following:

1) Dealer installed OEM ipod kit - been quoted about $900 installed.

2) Denison Gateway 500 - Found a place in NYC but they're looking for about $1400 to install.

3) Other suggestions

The prices on ipod dropped about 200 in parts. Call your parts department and tell them you heard about the price drop and see how much they sell it for now. 900 seems a little high last I checked for a CLS and it was 600 installed.

They always been around $600 in my area.

The Gateway 500 is a fairly simple DIY project and runs about $450 to buy. The instruction manual is not particularly good.

If your CDC is in the glove box, installation is simple. If it is in the trunk, there is a bit more work. See https://mbworld.org/forums/audio-ele...mentation.html -it may help a bit.

Thanks for your responses. Heard back from my dealer today. Said ipod kit is $675 installed. Also going to do some more research on the GW 500 as I hear some good things about this unit as well.
