Question Final challenge with Bluetooth install!@? Any help?

I purchased the MHI, MOST connector, bluetooth module and contact plate. My install went perfect with the units in the back panel and tested out fine including the fiberoptic displays. Here is where the issue comes in. My car is a 2008 SLK280. The contact plate I have is A230 820 05 11. I have attached a picture so you can see what I am talking about. My issue is that the contact plate connector is keyed and fits perfectly in the black connector but this is obviously the incorrect plug because there are only 2 wires coming off it. There is also a near identical plug you can see in the attached picture that is blue. This blue one has the larger "Key" slot in the second position so the cradle plug will NOT fit because this is keyed in the first slot (you can see at the bottom of the picture). I notice on the bulletin for installing there is a reference to a separate contact plate for my vin car A203 820 14 11. I called the tech who sold me the package and he stated the car plugs are identical between these two units and I should take the car to the dealer and advise the prewiring was incorrect. Any experience with the above? Little help?

What is your VIN or serial number or build date? The the contact plate you have is for chassis number up to F153636 while the other part you mention is from this onwards up to serial number F197201

vin

My vin is F177007. So the 2nd listed contact plate A203 820 14 11 has a different keyed plug than the previous one?

youmight be able to resolve this simply by switching the connectors or even removing the key tab so that it will fit the other connector.. it all depends on how the wiring is laid out...

Take better pics of *all* the plugs including the wiring coming out the end of each one. I can advise you better then.

Solution!

Just got the message from the tech who sold me the kit. He picked up the second part number I posted above and as it turns out this contact plate has both a blue and black connector. Guess that solves it!
