Will a NAV comand unit from a 2008 GL500 work in 2006 R350
MB part # A164 820 17 79
Model # BB0630
I am being told that it will work in a G, GL, ML, and R class for 2006 2007 2008. W164 W251
Monitor + single CD slot + Navigation drive with a DVD version 2007.1 disk.
Want to put in my 2006 R350 that has the basic unit.
My '06 R350 currently doesn't have NAV or Bluetooth, Tele or phone service.
Would this be a simple plug and play swap or will it be tough to get it to work due to some GPS antenna issues?
New to the forums any pointers would be helpful!

The unit is basically the same but i believe that the face is a bit different shape.. Im not sure if it will fit perfectly. Do you have the 7" LCD comand in the R now or the audio 20? if you have the comand in the R then you really just need to move the nav drive over to the comand in the R. You will also need to install a GPS splitter for the antenna lead to the comand. The splitter installs in the floor compartment just behind the driver seat. you will need to unbolt the front and rear driver seat, pull up the carpet and unbolt the floor panels. then you can get to the equipment bay. inside will be the teleaid unit and next to it a loose RG174 gps cable and also a connection point in the GPS cable running to the teleaid: disconnect the connection point and insert the splitter and then plug the loose RG174 cable into the third port on the splitter.

If you don't mind telling me if the DVD nav Drive in this unit, 211-820-34-97, would work in my Comand unit in the 2006 R350.
The above unit is for sale cheap and I was hoping to get it and just take the DVD nav out and put it in mine but I fear it won't work.

I have been looking for JUST the DVD drive but ones I have found people are asking $450-$500 for them same price as the HWOLE Comand unit itself.
If you don't mind telling me if the DVD nav Drive in this unit, 211-820-34-97, would work in my Comand unit in the 2006 R350.
The above unit is for sale cheap and I was hoping to get it and just take the DVD nav out and put it in mine but I fear it won't work.
