Makeing custom reverse bulbs, how many amps does the reverse light put out?

Makeing custom reverse bulbs but i need to know how many amps does the tail light put out?

I am going to use a Cree Q5 LED that is 3.7v 228LM@1A and make my own reverise lights as i need somehting brighter. going to make a custom heatsink but i dont know how much power the revese bulb socket puts out.

If this works out I was also thinking of making them for other members.

It pretty much does. The control unit would declare a short-circuit failure if you significantly exceed the 21W power limit and would switch the drive off.

exactly... at 21w you can expect the SAM to provide up to 1.75 amps... If you are going to make LED bulb replacements you need to current limit them to 1.75 amps or less.
