03-04 W211 Phone completion kit problem
Hello,
I have been trying to find these 2 parts for some time now, and I have ordered them 4 times from various M/B parts suppliers only to have my order cancelled due to non-availability.
I need:
1- Cable, linear compensator Q 682 0832
1- Standard install hardware kit Q 682 0463
Does anyone know where I can get these parts???
I would appreciate any help you can provide.
2003 E500, non-4matic

RE: 03-04 W211 Phone completion kit problem
I already have the BT puck, cradle, cabling, service update and linear compensator installed.
I just need the RF cable for the linear compensator and a few fastener odds and ends that are in the 2 part numbers I listed.

If you're going Bluetooth, you don't need the linear compensator or the RF cabling: Bluetooth relies on the phone's antenna (unless you're connecting an external antenna to the phone.)

Maybe I am misunderstanding the error I am getting.
I have a 2003, US spec, E500, non-4matic.
I have installed the puck and paired my phone successfully..The system continues to advise me that there is no phone present and the steering controls are saying the same thing.
The indie service center (I am in Guam, no M/B within 2000 miles) is stating the STAR has completed the update and my phone system "should" be working.
The car did not have the phone installed when bought. I have added the cradle, puck, linear compensator..without the cable I do not want to run a phone telematics test through my STAR computer tester without having the compensator cabled up.
I work RF all day so running an RF amp without the cable or dummy load attached is a good way to burn it up.
I now have a STAR testing computer and all associated interfaces on hand at home as well.
Am I missing something in the process? I just want my wife to be able to use her Iphone via steering wheel controls due to Guam having a cell phone driving law in place.
I have tried a few other alternatives, but they all fall short of expectations.
Any suggestions?

What's the manufacture date on your E500?
Read this thread, particularly section 4.
You'll also want to read the Telephone Bulletin for your car.
When you have your car version coded for the telephone, the telephone must be set to installed (or fitted,) and the Bluetooth must remain at not installed (or not fitted.)
Also, the telephone needs to be turned on in the instrument cluster (which it probably already is,) as well as in the Telematics (which it probably is not.)
I just did this on my '04 E320, but I used the puck with tail, and I did not install the linear compensator, and it works great once the coding was done.

Kevin,
Thx for the info, the bulletin answered the STAR directory for activation question.
One last item...anyone have the CD? Or have a location online with the files from the CD? The CD is another item I have attempted to order, and no one has it available.
Thank you
