New US COMAND and AV Interfacing

Hey all,

I installed my COMAND (in a c240) system right before the forum downtime. The 'new' US COMAND has a SAT button for satellite radio? I think. but also it has an RGBs input (Red/Green/Blue/Sync). So I was wanting to hook it up to a mobile dvd player or somthing of the sort. But DVD players (as far as I have seen) come only with composite outputs (RCA Jacks) or s-video. A friend in germany told there is something called an AV interface for the COMAND.

If anyone (Steve) is familiar with a solution to this I would greatly appreciate your input...

Enjoy,
TB

Many DVD players also have component video output, not just composite/s-video. On the PS2, this is switchable between RGB and component output.

the RGB inputs you are referring to are for the TV tuner that Benz offers in europe. You will NOT be able to add it to your command since you have the SAT button instead. On comand units without the SAT button, you can add a TV tuner. I have added it to my US Comand and works great. The tuner fits in the trunk and has dual A/V inputs for a DVD player, etc... I got it from Steve. Check the w203 forum for more info.

I looked at a new US spec comand with the SAT button...in the config menu of the comand there is an additional SATELITE RADIO feature next to the already existing TV feature...the SAT feature uses the AUX in that was meant for the TV...using SAT and TV is probably not possible...

I see... I did select sat radio in the diagnosis menu, but I get a message that says no sats found. So I can either have a TV tuner or sat radio 'add-on'

And it is not feasible to connect an rgb signal directly to the unit.

OK thanks for your replies,

Enjoy,
TB

SAT

I installed the Comand and TV tuner from Steve, and the SAT radio to the Aux input. Works like a champ but the SAT tuner does not show stations in the Comand. I installed the SAT head with remote inside the glove box.
