Possible New head units for C32, W203?

The radio/CD changer in my C32 sounds pretty lousy, much worse than the Bose in my old Audi S4.

From all the searches, it appears the problem is in the head unit (AM/FM/Tape/CDchanger), which is made by Becker?

The "Audio 10" (CD/AM/FM), number MF2910, I guess is made by Alpine. and is supposed to sound better.
Does it really?

Is there an alternative, somewhat stock looking setup, that supports AM/FM/Tape/CDchanger?

Most of the aftermarket units look pretty cheasy and would invite theft.

If I had to run an aftermarket head unit, what looks close to OEM?

Also is the 2003 C32 stereo, a Bose system,if the the car came without the Navigation system? There is a Bose decal on the speaker grill, behind the rear seat, which is the only Bose indication on this car.

So, the Command center audio head unit sounds better?

If I put in the OEM Nav Command unit, the Audio that comes with it is much better, than the audio system without Command?

The factory installed cassette player in North American cars is make by Alpine. The Audio 10 cd player is made by Becker. While most people on the forum who changed from the Alpine went to the Audio 10 CD, there is an Audio 10 CC which is a tape player with the ability to control the cd changer. It is supposed to sound as good as the cd version.

Audio 10 CD:

There are some fairly stock looking headunits from Blaupunkt, and Nakamichi.

Nakamichi CD400:

Nakamichi CD700II:

I had a COMAND retro-fitted and it sounds much better than the alpine unit.

Thanks for the pictures. Yeah the Nakamichi, doesn''t look too bad, although, there is the theft attention aspect. The Nakamichi name is known to be expensive and easily sellable. I wonder, if it sounds any better than the Audio 10?

Also, the Becker Monza 7882 appears to be an alternative to the Nakamichi. I suppose neither of those two integrate very well into the stock electrical system.

It seems odd that the Becker unit generally sounds better than the Alpine. I guess Alpine has really gone downhill.

The Audio 10 CC or the complete Command sound like the best options for me. If the Command sounds much better than the stock in dash cassette, I might consider a Command upgrade. The cassette is nice to have, though, for books-on-tape on long trips.

Where did you get your Command, ebay or Steve in Netherlands or ?

Does somebody know if you can install a cd changer in your trunk if you have Audio 10 CD and will it work with it?
Thank you all.
