any ignition-switched fuse will allow the dvd player to turn on when the car is on and will turn off with the car off. i'm confused as to what exactly want - do you want the DVD player to know when your COMAND is on and turn on? the COMAND is connected to an always-on fuse. in your car the fuse for that circuit is under the hood. it's possible to have the DVD player come on only when the COMAND is on...but i can't see any reason why you'd care? anyways - there are various switched fuses you can use - search the forum. and as for any "little plastic things" you're talking about - radioshack should do the trick.

thanks for the reply,

im just lookng for the best power supply for the DVD player, and ill either use the fuse block in trunk, or the lighter socket.

all i want it to do is have it turn off when the car is off....

where are you putting the DVD player? if you're putting it in the trunk than there's NO reason to run power from the cigarette lighter when there's a fusebox right there... if you're putting the DVD player say in the glovebox than using the cigarette lighter would make more sense...
