Thanks

I'm interested.
But, if you just want it done, it can be done, no testing required for your car. I think we talked about this in e-mail.

How can we manage that ?
Scorchie, I finally got two 6230 phones (part of the T-mobile family plan) with the obvious long term objective of installing a UHI in my car. So put me in for a "soft" order for a UHI phone kit. If it is not too complicated I could do the install myself or wait for Steve. Frankly I would rather do the install myself since I one of those immediate gratification kind of guys.
One thing I noticed about the phone though is inside the back case (where all the reference numbers are) states 6230b. I was kind of surprised because all the other markings in the boxes and materials states 6230. I called Nokia USA on this and asked them the difference between the 6230 and 6230b and they flatly said there was NO DIFFERENCE.
PM me for the UHI kit prices (installed and self installed) and the time frame for delivery. Also indicate if my supposedly "b" models will cause complications.

Also, guinea pigs for W210 are no longer needed... we completed an install and now know all the required information!

1) Is the COMAND with a UHI phone married to one phone? Or can I use more then one UHI phone in one car; i.e. I have a phone and my wife has a phone?
2) I know it's been stated here and on mbenznl.com the W202 supported is 1999-on, I'll assume because before that it was analog wiring ... However Steve already did a kick a** job of bringing my 1998 up to modern standards with fibre ... could he change my phone kit for this UHI standard, and does the COMAND have to change also?
Thanx,
Steve

2) MBenzNL have wiring harnesses that will make your FO-updated 1998 W202 work fine with the UHI kit. They are available for Steve to install (or install anytime in the SF Bay Area), or as "plug in" wiring where you can unplug your COMAND, plug in the wiring harness between the COMAND and your car, and be ready to go. The only thing you need to add is the UHI kit and possibly a microphone (and unfortunately, Mercedes microphones are not cheap... and of course it is recommended only going with the OEM microphone).

Is the list of phones that you have on the website still current? A lot of those phones have been replaced by the carriers with newer models. Please let us know if the list you provided is still current or provide us with the updated list.
I'm with Cingular, so I assume if the list is still current, 6200 is my best bet (phone lives in car). If not, please advise.
Thanks,
Gareth
A few V600/V551 cradles available for non-MB phones though... but these can be considered buggy, expensive, and not very well supported.

Hope we get a 850 Mhz version of that and a UHI cradle sometime!
