I called Mercedes Me helpline several times but still haven't got any reply, went to dealer and by having a quick look couldn't help either (blamed Mercedes Me app on my phone)

my question is how come and I cannot see the me app on MBUX ?any help will be appreciated.

Thanks

First off, the Mercedes me app won't show up in MBUX. So not sure what you are expecting there. Secondly, there are two different Mercedes me apps. One is for older vehicles <=2018 and the other one for newer vehicles >=2019. Depending on the market they have different names. Here in the USA, the older app is called Mercedes me and the newer app is called Mercedes me connect. In Europe the newer app was called Mercedes me 2020 at one point, but I think was renamed to just Mercedes me, but not sure what he old app is called. So first thing to make sure is that you are using the correct app. Below is a screen shot of the new app you should be using, but this is is the US version.

Then once you are sure you are using the correct app, your dealership has to activate the services. Has this been done when you took delivery of the car? Once they did their part you have to activate the services on your end under Manage services. I think for the very first time you have to do this through the web portal. If you login at https://www.me.mercedes-benz.com/ does your car show up? And if you go to Manage Services (https://www.me.mercedes-benz.com/pas...anagement.html) are all your services activated?

First of all thank you for your reply

I was expecting the MBUX to have the following icon which I dont have in my car

I do use the correct app (Its called Mercedes Me here in Europe) and the vehicle is shown there. The problem is that nothing seems to be activated as I can see only the service tab and store tab (when i go to the store to see what services are available I get the "Unfortunately there are no services available for the selected vehicle." I dont know if it was activated initialy from the dealership since I have only recently tried to use it for the first time. The dealership which I visited yesterday never mentioned about services activation etc.

I have tried the link you provided but I get the following which it might means that they need to activate the service from their end before I am able to.

In any case I think you might be right and should ask MB dealership specifically if the have activated the service.
Thanks again

Yeah that kinda looks like your vehicle has not been activated properly. Suspect the folks you talked to at the dealership don't know what they are doing. It's been a while for me, but I remember that once my sales person had activated things for my car I got an email letting me know. I don't remember the exact steps, but I then had to add the VIN to my account. Basically the step above. I see you are in Greece. Where did you buy this car? Is it potentially a vehicle that was imported from another country? Mercedes me is market specific, although in Europe the services are supposed to roam in all of Europe. But the message you are getting about the VIN not being known is a strange one. Seems the vehicle is added to your account as it shows up in the app, so you shouldn't have to add it again in the web portal. You just need to login with the same Mercedes me ID that you logged in to the app.

Also, are you sure your car has the required HERMES communication module? There's been a shortage of the module and many cars were shipped w/o it and later the module was slowly retrofitted in affected vehicles as inventory became available.

Get a hold of your build sheet and make sure your vehicle actually has it.

The car was bought here but as you said within EU all services offered are the same as far as I know.
Even though the car shows up in the app I had to enter it manually using the VIN and not with the QR code which is the usual way.I believe that you are right and the dealership dropped the ball.

The car has the HERMES module installed as it gets OTA updates, has hotspot etc.

Do you know if there is a way to activate the services myself without having to visit the dealership?

No, the dealership has to do their part, because activating the services requires proof of ownership, so somebody can't just add a random VIN to their app and start messing with somebody else's car.

Ask for the tech person at the dealership. Not sure how things are in Greece, but dealerships are supposed to have a person that handles the Mercedes me stuff and is technically versed.
