Upgrading speakers in '02 C240?

I may upgrade the non-Bose speakers in my '02 C240. How do you get the speaker grille's off? Anyone know the sizes of the speakers, including the single upside down subwoofer in the rear deck?

thanks
Jim

Hmm? With all the people I see upgrading their stereos, you'd think at least 1 person would know this stuff

Are you talking about the door grills or the back shelf? To get to the 8" sub in the back you will have to take the back seat out and remove the entire back shelf. The sub itself just snaps in.

the front and rear speakers are 6.5". as for the grill removal, you must take off the entire door panal to change the speaker. it is very easy. first, remove the little moulding that says "ABS" and there is a screw. unscrew that and if im not mistaken, you just pull the entire door assembly off. everything snaps into place. i couldn't remember any more screws to remove, although i may be mistaken. its quite simple really, don't think you'll screw anything up. it snaps back together.

yes, the method is the same for the c320. also, both the front and rear have 6.5" speakers.

im really sorry, but i had my stereo shop do it for me and all i could remember is that there is 1 or maybe two screws the remove and the rest just snaps on/off into place. it is much easier that you expect. as for detailed instructions, i honestly cannot remeber. try it out, it should just snap off.
