2020 S560 Restart W222 navigation over the air update? Stuck at 98%.
My W222 2020 S560 is stuck at 98% doing a navigation update to V26 map. It's been at 98% for two weeks with me driving a few hours a week. I previously did a manual update of ALL regions on USB key.
I can update manually but I may take it to the dealer as they are close to where I work. And I'm an idiot that thinks the car should work as advertised.

It resolved itself after 98% but only after driving for a few hours more. A lot of short drives over maybe two weeks?
Tell your car you’ll trade it in for a BMW and it will finish in 5 minutes. No don’t do that. A 2024 BMW 530i feels like you’re driving a smartphone, has a horrible suspension that I can’t seem to adjust and is as slow as molasses. Thank god for my S560! The BMW is good for picking up groceries and racing Toyota Corollas.
Tell your car you’ll trade it in for a BMW and it will finish in 5 minutes. No don’t do that. I mean it isn't fair to compare a 5 series to an S-Class as 5 series competes with E-Class. That said, yes the update does get stuck when the reception is low, I think it also mentioned the update will install while the vehicle is driving around or was it the other way around, the update will install faster (or slower) when the vehicle is parked?
You’re right. I shouldn’t compare the BMW with another car. The Corolla is faster. So was the old 2010 5 series we had.

We have done several updates on the BMW. It will wake up from deep sleep, do the update and go back to sleep. The issue is you don’t want to run the battery down if an update takes hours, on the Mercedes.

I will say I think the S560 does a great job with battery life maybe because of the 48V auxiliary battery? I’ve had no problems letting it sit for a week without driving it. Then it wakes up right away when I need to start it.
The BMW deep sleep sometimes takes a minute or two to wake up. Annoying.

The thing is the 48V mild hybrid battery doesn't power electricals in the vehicle like the infotainment, the voltage is too great and I don't think (need someone to confirm) the 48V mild hybrid battery charges the 12V one when it is low. That said, if this was an EQ vehicle, it was indeed reported the high voltage electric vehicle battery charges the 12V when it is low.
