Thanks.....

They're more reliable than the Stuttgart cars, and they come from Rastatt anyway.

One person in S. CA has a B 200 Turbo licensed there but I think its importation and subsequent certification was a fluke.

It is mainly purchased by people wanting to get the MB star on the hood at Toyota prices, like the Porsche 914 in the 1960s really a VW Beetle. It is not particularly popular in Toronto.

Thanks for answering his question.

Actually it is bigger inside than an E and gets better fuel economy than an E CDI, at under half the price.

There are almost 10,000 of these cars in Canada now. They're selling well enough.

A B class would be great for the US. Gonna need something with better gas mileage.....

C Class
Lightbulb B Class Importation into the US

The vehicle must have been tested by the DOT for crash worthiness and no one has yet done that for a B Class in the US. A Registered Importer will provide you with the correct information relating to importation from Canada to the US. There are many intricate levels of importation into the US, more so than the importation of a US vehicle into Canada.

2006 A180 CDI - automatic
Why a 'B' class ?? The A-200 turbo is supposed to be real responsive to drive, I like my A180 CDI ok too.....so why a 'B' class?? What's wrong with the A class??

One thing: there are no A Classes in Canada to import to the USA. But there are 10,150 B Classes - 200 and 200 Turbo only - to choose from up here.

32 MPG US = 38.5 Imperial MPG. That is my car's lifetime average. If you are getting 60 MPG lifetime with your A 180 tractor-engined model, then you are WELL ahead of the average of 45 Imperial MPG: http://www.spritmonitor.de/en/overvi...=80&power_e=85

I can get close to 60 Imperial in the B if I drive it just so, on the highway.

My smart with the "tractor" cdi engine has averaged 72 Imperial MPG, lifetime over 113,000 km.
