Coupe and AMG Door pins

Did anyone purchase the AMG door pins for their coupe? The doors on my black interior are so dark, I thought the chrome/aluminum pins might help to take away a bit of that starkness.

I have not bought them yet. Found them on Ebay also (set of 4, 2 long and 2 short). Just wanted to know others opinions about them and how easy or hard they are to get on.

Nice !!! ^^^

Are you able to confirm exactly how you got the originals off, I've tried to unscrew mine and they wouldn't budge I didn't want to apply too much pressure in fear of something breaking.

That would be a great help TIA

I've recieved and installed mine now and they are a worthwhile addition, looks so much better than stock, even for such a small item

Mine came in a 4 pack including those for the back doors on a sedan.

They are a shorter length, but AFAIK will work just fine on the front doors, so maybe I could pass them on if interested if or when we have a Melb. meet.

These are the ones I purchased DL250

AMG Door Pins

Crazy prices:

They are 70.00 CDN EACH, yes EACH.

Here in Canada at my MB dealership, M-B Burlington. I think the OEM ones are made of stainless steel, cause they are pretty heavy.

Like a dumb ***, I bought two of them

But they do look good once installed.

Two

They look like the ones in the pics posted by paleface above

You can also refer to the link I posted for pics of the pins on there own, I will put up a pic or 2 of mine sometime over the weekend.

The ones I've got are solid aluminium, brushed finished sides with polished top dome and AMG lettering - your right they do look a whole lot better than OEM and even though they're so small they are easily visible and stand out compared to the plastic black units

Also if you have brushed aluminium trims on your interior they match perfectly and really do make the door interior look heaps better

You can have them finish off at any level you want, including flush to the door trim ring, they are threaded so you simply screw them in as far as you want all the way until flush

I installed mine at the same top finish level as the stock OEM pins which is almost flush to the higher or outer side of the door trim ring and about 2mm or so higher than the lower or inner side of the door trim

Thanks for the info AV1, I have to admit I dont usually notice door pins but since consciously checking them out after reading this thread I can't stand them anymore! The factory ones are probably as ugly as door pins can get.

I have ordered them through my dealer for installation in the coming weeks before delivery and I think it'll add a nice touch.

Well done, again for such a small item they do make a big difference

I'm not totally repulsed by the OEM units LOL, IMO they look ok it's just that the metal AMG units look a whole lot better and make a nice match to all the other similar finished bits in the interior

I would a like a set in solid matte black metal/alum to retain the factory look but in better than oem plastic materials.

You could probably get them (the AMG metal pins) painted in a tinted clear coat and achieve that finish, would look great like the tinted finishes you get on brushed alloy wheels

They look much better than the black stock pins.

Does anyone know the Mercedes genuine part number of these AMG pins?

Was less than 1 working week, 4 days if I remember correctly

If you do get them just beware that when installing make sure you start off the thread properly or with any miss-alignment they'll become awefully hard to screw in, they should screw in easily by hand without having to use plyers
