Race Chip Pro fine tuning
Hi there
I have C250 CGI BlueEFFICIENCY, 1796ccm, 150kW (204PS)
I'm looking for ppl who tried Race Chip Pro on their rides.
(http://www.racechip.de/racechip-chip...CY-3919-r.html)
This little box has manual adjustments - see image attached. The second (right) dial is responsible for rpm range in which the power increase (left dial) is active. So since C250 gives less power on lower RMP, I'm now testing setup at 0-0 positions of the dials.
So far I ran several tests with Dynolicious app for iPhone.
I'm not sure about the settings I enter (drivetrain loss?) coz even on stock I don't get close to 7,2 seconds (0-60) and 204HP.. might be doing something wrong. You can see two images attached - with and without rache chip.
By now I can say that the chip does provide some torque but does not affect the 0-60 run time.
Will keep this post updated. Gotta run some more tests on same setting of the app (however, they don't affect the time).

Soo, some more detailed results. Stock vs. Race Chip Pro
Same day and time, same place, drive in S mode, ESP on
Dynolicious setup:
Rollout = 0
Trigger = 0,10G
Ride setup:
Weight = 1700kg
Drivetrain loss = 20%
I made 3-4 runs for every setup, below you'll find the best times for each setting. You can find what the chip settings are about in an attached image in my previous post.
Chip setting; 0-60km/h time; 0-100km/h time; G value; HP value;
no chip; 4,25; 8,41; 0,52; 199;
C-0; 4,17; 8,19; 0,54; 203;
C-1; 4,20; 8,21; 0,56; 207;
E-0; 4,22; 8,22; 0,56; 205;
D-1; 4,13; 8,24; 0,56; 201;
4-C; 4,28; 8,41; 0,56; 198;
4-0; 4,29; 8,45; 0,56; 201;
This all means that there is no perfect solution, and putting the settings up too high will even result in worse power.
I'm set to D-1 now.
Attached you can find the graphs comparing stock vs one of D-1 runs. You may see the difference. The D-1 curve is smoother. So far I cannot say that i'm satisfied with the purchase. If someone has a better experience - please share.
Next time I will post results with BMS Intake + Race Chip Pro.

You did a 8 second 0-100km ? You sure your driving her right. Thats a toyota corrola time there. That chip is crap than, there is no way you shouldnt see some improvement in that 100km time.

Well, this all is timed on an iphone, so there is no way it gets even to the stock 7,2 time.

Interesting post. Sorry for responding this late.
I have a Racechip Pro for my C200 CDI w203 and it is night and day difference with and without the chip. I have it set to 4 - 1 now and it is absolutelly amazing how fast the car accelerates. But I guess that the chip works better for diesels, too bad that Americans hate diesels, they are soo much better when tuned.
I recommend the Racechip tuning box for everyone who uses a diesel , it will make your driving experience a lot better, you can change gears faster because the torque is there and the fuel consumption is improved, not to mention the noise level is down since the engine can run on lower RPM with no problem. And no matter what RPM you have, you will always have more than enough power to accelerate , no turbo lag at all.
The only downside that I had was when I got to the max settings, the engine stopped, but I wrote to them and they said it was a normal thing, lowering the settings was the solution. Also, you will be tempted to floor it and the fuel consumption can go up if you are not careful with your driving style.
But overall, it is a good investment and I am happy using it for 3 months now with no problem other than the one that I mentioned.

hi, I have just bought an used C180 Blueefficiency w204 2011 from UK. I have install RaceChip Pro too. I was happy with the setting D1 and I think it is best setting so far and E1 will give abit engine bucking. However when I installed K&N air filter and the power has dropped at D1 setting, the car is sluggish if I floor the pedal to the max. Therefore I reset the dials to C1 and power is better. I think too much air has upset the airfuel ratio.

I use the Racechip now on the 6-1 setting ( one setting below the maximum ). I have a fuel consumption of 4.4 - 4.7 l / 100 km at 150 kmh in 6th gear. Without the chip I barelly get 6.7 l/ 100 km at that speed.
