Quad exhaust for C350?

Wondered if anyone has used or heard the quad exhaust from CKS. Price looks reasonable compared to others. Also wondered about the Meisterschaft GT touring version. I don't want cabin drone on the highway, and not obnoxious, just better sound quad looks.

I have the meistershaft gt exhaust on my 350 coupe for almost half a year now and I love it. I don't know about the touring model but for the race exhaust there is drone. It's not unbearable but it's loud when accelerating normally from a stop sign. I even added some sound dampening material in the spare tire well, it helps...I think. Everyone have been complementing my exhaust so far. I can post a sound clip and pics tomorrow of the exhaust if you'd like.

Lookinbarrel, I think lots of people would love to hear your clip of the Meistershaft, including me. Thanks for your info on your race version, I'd still like to hear it, but I think I'm more interested in the touring, or the CKS. CKS said theirs has no drone at all, but I haven't heard one. What rear diffuser do you have?

Hi Blinks, If your searching for the AMG quad look when you get a chance check out the quad system offered by Car Shine in Melb. for the C250's, it will actually fit any C or E Class variant.

I popped into their workshop for something else and spotted it, it looks like a good quality aftermarket s/steel set up and the price seemed reasonable - well for Car Shine anyway normally they're a bit of a rip in that department.

They are only open Mon-Fri but AFAIK they have details of it on their site.

I'm still considering the Brabus set up albeit as expensive as it is as I'm wanting a different look to the OEM AMG set up but still wanting a high quality and high end look finished result, in this case the diffusor is the stumbling block.

Yup im still keen on the quad exhaust. Thanks for the heads up about car shine albeit they are major ripoffs! I cant seem to find the exahust you are talking about on their site? do you have a direct link and how much did you see it for?

I havn't tried searching for it on their site, so don't know if they've featured it yet or not ??

Hopefully remembering correctly price was 15 or 1600 all up not including diffusor, also as far as I can remember it is manufactured and supplied from Taiwan - could be wrong on those details as I didn't really get into it too much with them as it is not what I was interested in when I was at their shop, I was there to pick up a C350 diffusor but as I remember from just a quick visual inspection it did look like neatly made quality hardware.

Give them a call and get all the info you need (9330 3377)

Apologies to the OP for straying away from the main point, but hopefully this helps some people.

Thanks for that Ill give them a buzz. If not I might go ahead with the CKS quad, it will only cost me about $70 to get it delivered here.

That photo looks different than the system on the Meisterschaft site.

Sorry or the uber late video. Lol

http://youtu.be/zUKPcaUvTrk

That video has the the start up and some revs. The second half of the video has some cabin noise/drone. The drone is a lot louder than it actually sounds. If you want me to record any more sounds or pics let me know.

Heres a pic:

This system is growing on me, for a quad it looks good, high end and distinctly different (up closde anyway) to the OEM AMG C63 set up, I may look at it further for consideration on my C Coupe in comparison to the Brabus system

C-Class Coupe 2012
Personally I don't like the drone on that system.

AVI - here are some vids I found of the CKS on a C250 CDI

This is what the car sounds like with the stock setup:

And this is the same thing after installing the CKS quad exhaust

The difference in cabin noise is minor and there is absolutely no drone - which I love.

Based on this I've ordered the CKS quad for my coupe.

It is on its way and I'm expecting delivery this week or early next week. It will be installed on the car soon after that. I will post my findings, pictures and hopefully also a vid.

I've ordered the heat shields as well - they cost about $205 NZD which I thought was fairly cheap and worthwhile adding to the setup to keep the look consistent and stock.

I know lots of guys on the forums dislike the C63 look on a non C63 car and I was in the same camp. however, I really like the setup and think it looks great albeit a little C63 wannabe'ish. I don't think however, that anyone that knows their mercs will mistake a non AMG coupe for a C63. In my mind, there are far too many obvious differences between the two (even though I have the AMG sports pack, intelli lights, pano roof etc.). Therefore I have decided to go for it without worrying about making it look distinctly different from a C63.

FYI, ^ that's the diesel version that is not in the U.S. - sounds pretty bland and boring if you ask me. I'm going to try to borrow and/or buy a GoPro or some other camera to hopefully get some driving impressions of my custom C250 CGI (USA spec) C250 coupe that has a magnapack and is then straight-piped to quad exhaust.

Yep, agree that it is bland/boring but I was after a quiet exhaust and therefore this is pretty much what I was looking for.
And yes, please post a vid of the driving impressions on yours. I've seen your other video where you place the camera under the exhaust and pretty keen to hear what it sounds like when driving.

Thanks for the heads up skat004 I certainly don't want any drone, might be due to the flap system it has in there ?? my favourite option at this stage is still the Brabus despite the cost, at least I know there are no issues with that system and it works just as well for diesels an petrols

I too have the CDI and therefore totally agree with skat004, ie. you definitely don't want any louder then stock OEM for the IL4 oilers (V6 oilers in sedans and wagons different story, they sound great) in fact I wouldn't want it any louder for a petrol one of these either, it detracts from the classiness of these vehicles, I've heard a Brabus equipped one of these and it is hardly any louder than stock - perfect for what I want, but as always each to their own

[QUOTE=skat004;5438790]Yep, agree that it is bland/boring but I was after a quiet exhaust and therefore this is pretty much what I was looking for.[QUOTE]

Yep also what I'm after, I think it's a given for CDI owners only I wouldn't call it bland/boring, I'd call it conservative and perfectly suited to this vehicle, ie. class and refinement, I've got plenty of other hot, loud, lowered and huge wheeled vehicles in my stable for that sort of thing, the C Class Coupe is in a different bracket though, last thing I want to do is 'hoon it up'

For what its worth:

There is my C250 CGI (U.S. version with aftermarket quad exhaust). Skip to 1:00 for exhaust revs.

Would you say your exhaust is louder than a stock C63? The same? Quieter?
