12 c250 coupe-to-13 c350 sedan

Hey guys, I been off the forum for a while and been getting a lot of inbox messages about stuff. My finance is having my son next month so, I been doing a lot of preparations.

As the title states, I went in for schedule B service for my c250 coupe and I was given a 13 c300 4matic with sport plus package. After driving the c300 for the full weekend, I was really impressed with the bigger engine and size, 4 door convenience vs 2 door. I decided to check out the 13 c300 4matics however, none of them came with sports plus package and lighting package. I was not about to buy another car without keyless go and bixenons so this was a deal breaker. My dealer did have a c350 with sports plus package and lighting and after much negotiating, I purchased the 13 c350. It has all the bells and whistles minus full leather package. I prefer the amg seats over full leather package anyway.

I know I was a big defender of the c250 engine especially with my mods, and after owning the c350 for two weeks, I can actually say that unless you WOT the c350 at every traffic light, the c250 (with my mods) felt better around town and better throttle response. Now my c350 is definitely way faster than the c250 but if you are doing daily city commute (I drive 4 miles to work) there is really no need for the bigger engine. I guess with the c350 you get bragging rights, because all you see now is c250 sedans/coupes and c300 4matics. I have not once seen a c350 for the last two weeks.

So far, I got the windows tinted and added the smoked marker lights already. I added BMC air filters and I also changed the H7 cornering lamps to Philips diamond visions. I also changed the puddle lights on the mirrors to LEDs. I am getting the grill and lower valance painted black this weekend along with getting the resonators removed. There's not much you can do to a c350 as the engine is already tuned to the max. I called Renntech and they could only squeeze out 6h + 12tq, not really bang for your buck. I don't know where AndresToys got the 30Hp + and 30Tq from his Renntech tune. I will take the plunge as any added power is a plus. Anyway, pics below:

2012 C350 Black with Red Leather, 1973 911
Nice now you got a real sport sedan. Are you liking that 305hp feel and the larger brakes you get with the C350. I am also trading my C350 black coupe with red leather in for the new style 2014 c350 sedan. Good luck with it.

Congrats on the new car Damien, good to see you stuck with a MB

Regardless of model or variant, as long as your happy with what you've chosen for all your own reasons that's all that matters, I know exactly what you mean with your comparisons of the 2, but any current C Class MB is a great vehicle to own

If I could find a 2013 C300 4-matic Sedan w/Sport Plus Package it would be mine. I love the Coupe but miss my Sedan.

BTW- The 2013 C250 Coupe w/Sport PLUS Package comes with the same brakes as the 2013 C300/C350. The C250 Sedan has the standard C250 Brakes.

Thanks...I am not able to experience the full power of the car since I live in the inner city. Speed limits are 25-35mph and I have not had a chance to enjoy the 302hp. That's why I said if you live in the inner city, it's pointless to buy the bigger engine unless you want bragging rights.

Also, I don't know about you c350 owners but so far having the car for 2 weeks and maybe 1 WOT, i am averaging 13.2mpg. That's pretty crappy considering my c250 was averaging almost 19mpg from day 1 all city driving. That's a big difference and not the advertised 1 mpg difference between the c250 and c350. I am also using eco start/stop.

The car is nice, I guess because I now have all the bells and whistles that were missing from the c250. I still miss the c250 around town/city torque which was usable way earlier than the c350. I am also thinking about changing the tailpipes to the RTP ones I had on the c250. They fill out the diffuser better. The ones on the c350 look so small and there are like 1 inch gaps on both sides, looks horrible. Since this is now my second MB car, I think I will stay with MBs. I can't wait to see what the w205s look like, hoping for a v6 turbo as the torque in this car is lagging.

Not a fan of the brakes on Mercedes. On my c250 coupe I changed them to ceramic pads. I plan on changing the pads on this car too. I don't know if the pads on the c350 sedan are ceramic are not, but my c250 stopped with more confidence after I changed them.

Once again I know exactly what you mean when you do a comparison of the different engined variants and even in my case I'm still stoked I chose the CDI because in most daily driving conditions it's better in most regards than any of the petrol variants, once again it comes down to the individuals own preferences, I agree with you on the torque aspect most N/A engines feel weak and limp compared to forced induction engines even those of a much smaller capacity, unless it's a huge displacement V8 with N/A you have to thrash their nuts off to get the maximum performance out of them and that's not something you can do in most daily driving conditions

Those RTP tips will definitely look alot better, I still have a brand new set myself as initially I was going to do the same set up as yours, the OEM tips of the 350 like the 250 are a little small, definitly use those RTP's and your C350 will look more unique as well

The W205 will definitely have the new 3.0ltr TT V6 petrol and your torque prayers will be answered with that engine, I've read MB literature that states the current V6 N/A petrol is the lowest volume/slowest selling or least popular MB engine choice (sorry to point that out to all the N/A V6 350 fans), so it's been replaced across the board and all the better for it as that new V6 will be totally superior, albeit thirstier if your going to thump it hard

In the meantime though enjoy your C350 but I'm sure you'll be eager to get back into a forced induction engined MB

2013 C250 Coupe
Hey Damien, so sad to see your coupe go - you were one of my favorite modders

But with a newborn, you would need that 4 door. So i understand completely. Congrats, btw!
