Where are all the modified coupes?!

After spending some time in the sedan section I've realized that they are far more modified sedans vs the coupes. Is it just because they've been out longer? I've seen a few on here with some wheels and lowered, but nothing really more than basic appearance mods.

Are there any SC/turbo kits for the coupe out? Any go fast mods? Or is the coupe crowd just not into modifications other than appearance?

Just an observation I had. I placed my order this past week for my C350 coupe sports plus and plan on doing an awesome build, but don't see many others doing much besides basic exterior mods.

I'm just curious as to why? I understand the engine is very high compression and not so great with FI but there are fixes for that. Also the C63 coupe is almost $30,000 more than what I paid. I've heard the trans in these cars can hold around 450-500hp. So new pistons, rods, a turbo/sc and ecu tune should be some fun. Or is it just the demographic for the C coupe? I probably won't go FI for a while but is it possible to get 325rwhp from these engines N/A? Or are they built for style and looks but not performance?

C204 C250-CDI
As above

Most of us on here who've modified have kept it simple, the C Coupe is IMHO already an outstanding package as is from factory especially if you get a fully loaded one, you just need to select and buy the variant that best suits your requirements or needs and you then won't have to mod it much at all.

There are a couple which have been heavily modified, check out "190Benz's" thread for example.

Otherwise if your wanting to do more modding and come across a sedan or W204 thats been modified to what your wanting, you could always do similar to your C204 as the mechanicals and most other parts are identicle between sedan and coupe.

At the end of the day anything is possible, if you want to modify as you've outlined above you could it's all up to if you really wanted to invest the time and money for it.

For the C350, there just aren't a lot of performance mods other than the ECU tune. I am waiting for Kleemann to develop headers for the M276, so that I can get the ECU tune at that time.

On a recent trip, I averaged 32 mpg at 85 mph, and had the car right up to the speed limiter at times. It was nice and stable, and had plenty of power left. I was able to easily pass other cars uphill at elevations around 7000 ft.

I am looking at putting C63 sway bars on my C350 and that's about left on my list of stuff to do on this car. Like others have mentioned, this car is great right out of the box from the factory.

In addition, my car is coming up on 1 yr old, with no trips to the dealer; the car has been flawless.

C63 P31 Coupe 13'
As what you have just said, we do spend some money just on modifying the appearance simply. As I did. The way I thought about it and maybe the others, the reason we didn't buy the c63 is that we didn't want to spend that extra $30,000 as you mentioned. If I was planning to tune my c350, it is going to cost me some reasonable amount of cash, but I won't. I would buy a fresh C63 instead. That is my opinion ...

Good taste in cars! I've had a C5Z and a C6 Z51 package, and I have a E46 M3 roller in the garage waiting for a LS3 swap for a track car

But I'm only 23, while this will be used primarily as a DD I will also be taking the car on Gold Rush Rally, Targa Trophy and several other rallys next year. And being a track fiend I'd like to give her some road course time as well.

Yeah that was what I was mainly wondering, if there just wasn't huge after market support for the W204 as their is for other models. I would really like to start off with headers, intake, full exhaust and ECU tune as well as plenty of suspension mods.

If I'd be able to leave the C63 stock I would have maybe considered going for it, but the $30k+ for the car alone plus modding would have been extremely expensive. I'm not looking for huge power, just a little more than wheels and lowered as I've seen around.

But like everyone has said even with basic exterior mods the car is a great machine no doubt. I was just curious as to why it seems other cars in the same class (IS350, 335I, CTS) seemed to be more popular to modify.
