91 octane fuel not available in my area. 93 ok?

91 octane fuel not available in my area. 93 ok?
Hey all
My new C250 coupe owners manual specifies 91 octane fuel. However all of the gas stations over where I am in NY have 87, 89 and 93 octane fuel. I am filling with only 93 but my question is: would my car be performing better with 91 even though I'm using something with a higher rating and not lower?

Generally the higher the octane number the better it'll be for any car engine, but you may or may not notice any differences using a higher octane fuel with a stock engine.
If the manufacturer has specified a fuel type, then that will do the job according to the specified engine specs, if you were to run a tune other than stock then you would notice a difference with a higher octane fuel used.

You know, I am usually filling with 93 at a Lukoil station but if the brand makes a difference I will be sure to only use the major ones.

91 is the minimum. I usually notice significantly better performance with 93. Could be in my head, but I don't think so. I assume the engine advances the timing to take advantage of the increased octane.

That's cool. A lot of people have talked about throttle and turbo lag with this car, which I have not yet experienced. Maybe this is why?
