% of 250 vs 350 COUPES PLUS TRADE INFO.
The 2014 C350 was in the dealer's loaner fleet of 50 cars for 6 months.(A rarity). Only has 6300 mi. on it. Pretty well loaded including LIGHTING pkg,COMAND,MULTI etc.Compared new C250 (no lighting pkg) w/USAA pricing to the CPO C350. 2014 350 MSRP is $52,000. 2014 250 MSRP was $47,000.
New 2014 C250 USAA price was $41,800.
CPO 2014 C350 price was $39,900.
Summary: C350 $1,900 less.CPO warranty + new MB warranty is 4 1/2 yrs and UNLIMITED MILEAGE.
New C250 has usual 4 yr/ 50,000 mi warranty.
To me this was a no brainer. More car, better equipped, longer warranty and less money. And yes I did get the true value for my 2013 trade-in.
I agree if looking at previous model years, but not if you're looking at the current lineup.
The older model 300s put out only 228 HP and got 18/26 MPG and the 2010 350 was 268HP & 17/25 MPG.
There’s not enough of a gap in MPG for me to justify the 4 cyl and 100HP on the 2012+ lineup.
Some stats off Edmunds for the 2013 coupes:
C250
Estimated MPG: 22/31
HP: 201 @ 5500RPM
Torque: 229 ft-lbs @ 2000PM
C350
Estimated MPG: 20/29
HP: 302 @ 6500 RPM
Torque: 273 ft-lbs @ 3500 RPM
MGP is close, so besides the large gap in HP, the only other difference is price; 250s MSRP is roughly 5K cheaper than its big brother. I'm sure price has a lot to do with the sales #s
The C250s turbo lag is what killed me. Had a brand new one as a loaner and my take was; foot down…nothing….little movement…then we have lift off. I’m not knocking it, it’s a nice car, just not what I wanted. My wife’s Audi Q5 is a 2.0 Turbo and the lag isn’t nearly as bad as what I experienced with the Merc’s, but the Audi also has an additional 10 HP and 30 more torques.
Have also had experience with turbo lag. The 4 cyl is a good engine but the 6 is better all around. If it's worth $5 k more is up to the buyer. In my case the 350 is better equipped than my 250. Again it is choices.

The HK stereo and premium package are included as you pointed out and you’re correct, there’s about a 3-4,000 difference in price once you start adding all the goodies in. A well equipped 350 = $54,000 +/- and a well equipped 250 =$ 50,000 +/-
For some people $4K can make or break a deal based on payments. It equates to about $75-80/mo. As Greasy pointed out, it’s up to the buyer to see if it's worth it.

I think this thread has gotten off the original topic.. Sorry Greasy
The Best of Mercedes & AMG

I test drove both models before I custom ordered my C350 coupe. I enjoyed the performance of the C350 over the C250. Usually on my commute to work, I get about 34 mpg, which is higher than MB specifies.

It's what they call it 'company demo'. Some exec at MB drove it. I am actually the first owner, they position these as 'new car' and not a CPO.
Mine just had 6700 km on it (roughly 4000 miles). Like OP mentioned I have all possible options on it as well. I also have a sport package with dinamica interior (red stitching, red accents, red belts, etc.) and seven spoke black AMG 18' wheels. The MSRP of this particular car in Canada is $57800 CA plus tax, freight, admin fee, etc. I got a $7000 discount on it plus they gave me excellent value for my trade (e90 330i). So in the end I was happy with the deal. The interest rate is also pretty good at 0.9% for 4 years, no complains there.
For me the C250, or C350 sedan for that matter, were not even a choice. I went straight to the best available coupe in the class. I realize you can equip C250 to be similar or very close to the 350 but just having 100 more HP and an N/A V6 engine as opposed to 4 cylinder turbo made it a no brainier for me really. Plus those dual exhaust pipes on a 350 make the car look so much sharper and more aggressive.
Enjoy your new C350 greasykid, I am sure you’ve made the right choice.
Have made a few mods to my C350 Coupe---SL type grill, clear front side marker lights, chrome door pins,MB tire valve caps,Valentine V-1 radar detector & Conti Extreme Contact DWS tires.
The recommended tire pressure on the fuel door is 32/32. Tried 32 then 34 and ended @ 36/36 to get the type of steering response that I want. Ride is firm but not uncomfortable. A Sport Coupe s/b "Sporty" Conti tires are a little on the soft side.

Would consider changing the grill too, to the AMG style one fin grill.
Removed P Zero's from 3 previous cars. They became noisy and rough riding within 8-10,000 miles. DWS is very good all-weather tire. May try AS3's next time.
re.grills: Both AMG & SL style are single bar. AMG has chrome frame around grill. SL type-no frame.

Do you know where I can get the AMG style grill? Found one seller on ebay but they do not ship to Canada. Funny thing - they are located in Canada, B.C. lol..
