Lightbulb First Oil Change. MityVac Extractor. Questions.

Hello folks. I used an oil extractor to remove what I thought was ALL the oil from the 2009 W204 engine. After replacing filter and letting as much oil drain to the bottom of the engine and extracting, I refilled with the spec. amount of 8.5 quarts.

After running the engine up to driving temps everything sounds and works well with the engine, but an oil check with the dipstick tells me I am OVER the MAX oil line.

Is this common? Should I extract some of that new oil?

Any advice is appreciated!

Pretty sure when I used the oil extractor about a quart of used oil or more stayed in the engine. I did my best to suction all of it out, but clearly I am missing something.
I am using the MityVac MV7201 oil extractor. The straw reached the bottom of the pan (or at least it felt like it!).
Do I have to angle the vehicle in a certain way? or sneak the straw in a different way?

MityVac tips

Any tips for extracting oil out of the W204 with the MityVac (pretty popular brand) are appreciated. Clearly i did not collect all of the oil, even after letting the car run a good bit and letting the oil get warm. The suction line hit the bottom of the pan, (or something else?), I could not have gone any further with the suction line insertion.

Help is appreciated. I was really happy extracting as opposed to draining.

Does the W204 actually have a dipstick? My W209 does not, you check it from the steering wheel menu without the engine running.
If you put to much in it will alert you immediately.

That does seems excessive. I used MityVacon my C63 and extracted 8.5, of course it's a bigger motor. The car was level and I used the smaller MityVac tube. Have you call and asked the MB service department how much oil it requires?

My experience--I do not put the full amount of oil in on the first refill. Much better to do only a partial fill;then check oil stick and proceed from there to proper level. OVERFILL is never good.

Not sure why I would have to do that though, the manual says 8.5qt?
Isnt that like the bible?
