TOO MANY AD'S?

It seems that I am reading--or just browsing way too many ads from "SPONSORS". How do YOU feel about this? Seems much more cluttered than a few years ago. If this keeps up we will have more SPONSORS than MB owners.

Suggestions or recommendations?

Yes, as per other thread on this topic they should be moved to their own specific sub forum sections, like for eg. the tyre, wheels and suspension dedicated section.

I'm sure we all like to see or have access to the aftermarket on our vehicles, but they shouldn't be in the model related forum thread sections, as people can see most threads at the top all of the forum columns are sponsor adds rather than topic related threads.

Most other forums are set up this way and it does not seem to reduce the exposure (or dare I say revenue) of both the sponsors and the forum owners

I wish a moderator would clean up some of this advertising spam.
Personally I won't give any vendor any business from their marketing on this site/forum. If I want a product I go and search for it off site. I take the time to visit this site for pertinent information or to share such. Granted I haven't made many post or even been a member until recently, but it already is driving me to look elsewhere for a MB community.

what a drag

I visit the forum less often due to having to filter through all of the ads.

I actually sent a PM regarding a moderator assignment to this this forum quite a while ago and got no response what so ever

It would certainly help with more moderators here, besides the sponsors/vendors part of it a lot of threads on this forum
go down the toilet if you know what I mean well before someone with the power to take control steps in to do something about it

I've actually seen sponsors/vendors being banned from the forum, obvious reason being revenue related so it would seem the forum owner/s here have their set priorities and don't seem to care too much about other issues...

I'm also looking at alternative MB forums, good news is there's plenty out there

E90Post.com (albeit a much higher fan base) has it down right! That site is very well moderated and segmented.

I too don't visit here as often because of all the ads. You know it's bad when car dealers are creating a username to push their inventory on the forums. 1 quality post... sell, sell, sell.... that's spam

At least board sponsors are paying to support the manpower to run this site.

That's a very fair and valid point, but they are also making money from sales from the advertising on this or any other site so it's a win win for the part vendors and board owner/s.

Again that's all well and good but the main problem being raised is the clutter of the adds in this and other sections of the forum, my suggestion remains the same, ie move the vendors to their own specific section with plenty of reference to them, they'll still get the same exposure but without cluttering up the car topic related sections

I agree, way too many ads. It's one thing to spam in a high volume forum where there are new threads everyday such as the w204 forum, but the c204 sub-section forum is already dead as is, why clutter it up with ads? i think a lot of c204 enthusiasts come to this sub-section, see all the spam threads, and never return. very off-putting for me so I try to stick with the w204 forum as I know what to expect. just my 2 cents.
