End of Warranty
Well, the last day of my factory warranty expires on Wednesday this week
!!
The dealership quoted me $5,600.00 for two more years so I've started a slush fund and will cross me fingers. She's actually in great shape with a lot of proactive maintenance already completed so I'm not too worried.

join the club ahaha! ya thats crazy but from what i've read you can get it for a lot cheeper call other dealers in the area and see what they quote you. you can also buy a third party warranty, but i'd be making the calls for that tomorrow!
OR just risk it like a lot of us! hahaha and the money you saved on the warranty save it, just incase of a repair you can't DIY.

That's the plan. She's been great mechanically but I have two pages of trim and corrosion issues that were repaired/replaced due to the warranty. Granted, the car now runs and looks new with the exception of a few stone chips and dings from other parked cars; I'm going to have a paintless dent repair guy come by the house in 2 weeks.
Every fluid has been changed, except power steering, which is on my short list to do this month. Spark plugs replaced: check, air/cabin filters swapped out: check, brakes: I'm ordering rears very soon but there's still 4mm of pad left, oil changes: every 4.5 -5 k.

Just had to bring the back to the dealership for two issues:
1. Re-occurring almost popping sound from the roof panel when driving slowly over uneven road surfaces (3rd time to the dealer),
2. Rattling from the front, passenger side wheel area. The dealer could replicate but not determine exactly where the noise was coming from so...
They called me this afternoon with the following: An issue was found with the Panoramic roof and repaired (??). As for the rattling sound, the shop foreman decided to replace both shock/strut assemblies and who knows what else. I was gentle but firm in declaring my disappointment with the car as suspension parts normally shouldn't be failing right at 4 years old (with only 46k miles)! Also, my factory warranty officially expires today; they told me that the repairs will still fall under the warranty although the foreman did BS me a bit by stating all repair tickets normally need to be closed within that period. I never authorized them to order the parts or to perform the service so we'll see what happens tomorrow. I love the car but am getting quite disenchanted with all these problems. Could this be my first and last MB???

Today's update: The dealership replace both complete front strut assemblies and guess what..., the rattle's still there. Foreman says "maybe it's the front bumper corner panel." Ok, let's keep replacing parts until a cure is found. Maybe tomorrow...
I WILL have a brand new car if this keeps up!
