2014 C350 Coupe, 2006 ML500
Prospective Coupe Buyer

I've been looking for a new car as my current car, a 2002 C240, is failing (transmission failing, parts breaking, etc.) I've looked at the C350 coupe and I was wondering if anyone on the forum could throw in their experience with the car. My choice is either a 2013-2014 C350 coupe or a 2016 C300 Sedan, the sedan was apart of a rental fleet so I already know there would be problems with it. So I'm leaning more towards the coupe as it looks alot better than the w204 sedan. I'd like to know about the reliability towards the 80k-100k mile mark and what the average maintenance costs are with the car. Any big repairs or problems that just caused headache after headache? I'm staying away from the C250 just because the C350 has a N/A engine and it comes with more things standard from what I've read.

2015 C350 Sport
Well, I cannot speak of long term, but I just purchased a 2015 C350 coupe about 6 months ago. No issues yet.... I do miss a backup camera and the passenger seat without the same controls as the drivers, kinda suxs.. Other than that... Loving it.

2013 C350 4matic coupe
I can't speak for long term either. I picked up my 2013 C350 4matic coupe in Jan 2016 with 34k miles. I have about 45k miles now without any issues.

Definitely go with the M276 C350. Don't bother with the C250. You don't want to be chasing horsepower, and regret later not getting the C350. Plus I think there are some issues with the turbo in the C250.

Is the C350 AMG fast? Of course not. Will there be other cars in everyday encounters on the road that'll be faster? Yes. But the C350 is no slouch. I find the power perfectly adequate for everyday scenarios. And it is possible to make it quicker than stock by replacing the stock intake with a basic cone fitler

Mercedes C250 Coupe
CPO C250 Coupe. 10,000 miles with 28.9 MPG average since purchase. Not one issue. Cool dealer threw in first two payments + first two 10,000 miles service app'ts as MBFS incentive.

I'm obviously not a stop lite Parnelli Jones (or even a Jeff Gordon).

Yes the 4 is slower than the six.

De Guispitus Non Desputandem (Car sure works for me!)

One day ago I traded in my 2007 CLK 350 for a 2012 C350 (coupe of course). Prior to the CLK I had the exact same car you had a 2002 C240.

My C350 is the best car I've ever owned PERIOD! (And my stable currently has a 1975 911, a 2005 Cayenne, and a 2010 E350.) I bought a 30,122 mile steel grey car that was so well optioned I am still discovering features it has. The most recent- Bluetooth streaming.

The engine/transmission combination is AMAZING! Such smooth fluid power. Fuel economy is pretty darn good too, without even trying to drive conservatively I'm getting 27 mpg on the freeway. The difference between my 2007 CLK 350 with 272 HP and this 2012 C350 with 303 HP is night and day.

I suggest a 2012 or later model (that's when they upped the HP from 272 to 302), as low mileage as possible and while you are at it get as MANY options as possible. Of course an AMG 63 would be even better but coming from a C240 a C350 will seem like an F-104 (A fighter jet made by Lockheed which was described as a missle with a man in it)

Study available options, it is amazing what MB is doing now, Distronic, Parktronic, Hard Drive Navigation, Lane Keeping System . . .

I picked up a 2012 C350 Coupe from a Southern California Dealer with 30,122 miles extremely well equipped for 22,000.

The only thing to consider many/most of these cars are affected by the Takata Air bag recall and MB will be servicing cars from southern US states first and deal with less affected climates (like Southern California) later.

You WILL NOT be disappointed with the 350. Hope this helps

I came from a 2005 C55 AMG. Do I miss the C55? Just a little bit. The C55 definitely felt more like riding in a bank vault / urban assault vehicle. But my 2013 C350 4matic coupe steers and handles much better. Having 359 HP from a 5.5L V8 was nice. But it's not a power dense engine since the C350 gives you 302 HP from 3.5L V6.

What really annoyed me about the C55 was lack of fuel range. 16 gal fuel tank, 5.5L V8, and 20 MPG. I wasn't travelling very far on a tank of gas. With the C350, I can definitely travel farther with 18 gal tank and 27 MPG.

Whoooo a C55 is a monster, musta been a lot of fun but constant visits to the recycled dinosaur store at 91 octane must have hurt.

On a full tank my car indicated I had a 530 mile range, hope that pans out.

In any case Dino240 will not be disappointed with the W204 M276.

On a side note I did a little research on a Command/NAV update, that answer wasn't as welcomed

3 years ago, I did a solo road trip from NYC to Florida via Tail of the Dragon in the C55. I had to make frequent gas stops.

Tail of the Dragon kicked my *** and the C55. Really tight hairpins and switchbacks. Was a bit scary to drive that road at any sort of fast pace.

When I got down to West Palm Beach, I went to the drag strip. I was laying down 13.5's @ 104mph. I was the slowest car of the night. All the C63s, a G55, all the Camaro SS's and Mustang GT's were faster.

2006 CLK 500, wife's is a 2014 E3504M
Definitely go with a C350. I traded my CLK500 in on a 2015 C350 that had most options. Not as nice as the wife's 2014 E350 4M but nice. I miss not having B pillars and the torque on the 500 but it will be my DD for now.
