Testing auto-stop functioning.
I've gotten used to the auto-stop function, but now even when it is on, I haven't seen go on for the last couple of weeks. Is there any way of testing the auto-stop's functioning before I take the car to the dealer?

Could you explain what Auto stop funcation you're talking about?
If you have the A/C on the Auto start/stop funcation will probably disable it depending on your vehicle temperture and A/C settings

The ECO start/stop engages itself based on a number of factors, like "the air conditioner, for example, and is suspended as soon as the vehicle’s interior temperature drops below a certain threshold".
It also doesn't seem to engage until the engine is at a certain temperature? Just a guess.

I think he's talking about Collision Prevention Assist Plus, which detects an impending collision. The system will brake automatically if no action is taken.
I've had the system warn me of impending collisions when there was nothing in front of me. It happens often at the same intersection (where I'm at a slight incline), so I suspect it's detecting some interference from an external source, OR the radar is reflecting off of something in a particular way that it thinks I have an object in front of me. It never activates the brakes.
I've also had the system warn me when I'm turning in front of a curved wall.
In either case, I don't think it's a malfunction as much as an inability to completely identify an object in front. If this is what you mean, and you decide to take it in, do let us know what they say.

if it's in this postion it won't work depends on the A/C or if the Engine is hot or not.

I've watched the video. Remember now that the auto stop/start had been working, the auto stop/start indicator on the console is on (green), the engine is not overheated. I've run the car in C with the A/C off, still no auto stop/start. Temps are in the 80s, but when I got the car last July same temps (and higher) for rest of summer, yet start/stop was working. Could be broke, eh?

Hmmm.. When you come to a complete stop do press hard on the brakes? Use the hold feature to test it
If your foot is just gently pressing on it to keep it from not moving it wont work

I have also tested this issue while running in Echo. And, yes, I have used the brake hold without the engine stopping.

Made an appt with MB. SA says it probably is the battery that is dedicated to start/stop. Will have to have the car at least one day as they will also run a full check on the car.
EDIT: Interestingly, the auto start/stop when on twice yesterday morning, but that was it. Obviously, something needs fixing.

Auto stop/start now appears to be working properly. Didn't do anything to do this, just happened. SA said that maybe the battery got charged??? He said a replacement is free for the first 4 of ownership and suggested that I leave well enough alone, but do bring in if the start/stop "acts up" again.
