Will the new tail lights for C Class 2018 coupe be available next year for 2017 model
Hey guys!
So I am in LOVE with the new 2018 C class coupe - AMG C300 specifically.
Now, I prefer not to buy brand new maybe a year old. I have a question. Next year end is when I plan to pickup a used 2017 AMG C300, but I wanted to know, will it be possible to modify the rear tail lights on the 2017 model with the lights on the new 2018 model. I love the new lights, and the only thing I did not like in the 2017 model was the rear lights. The 2018 lights will look good for many years to come and just looks sexy
Here are some photos to show you what I mean for the 2018 tail lights - the horizontal stripes. Any advice would be appreciated so I can then plan to get a 2017 model and save a bunch of cash as well! There does not seem to be much other changes made in the 2018 model from what I can see.
Cheers!
Edit - Having looked at some 2016/2017 AMG C200/300 coupe pics with the lights on, it actually seems that these horizontal strip lines in the tail lights are already there, same? Maybe its just the color of the paint for this car hehe

The 2017 and 2018 have the same taillights. As far as I know, the 2018 isn't a facelift model year, so there are no exterior changes. Here's what my 2017 C300 (non-AMG line) looks like right now. You can still see the lines you're talking about even during the daytime.

Hey thanks man.. your ride looks sweet that's great to know then I can likely focus on getting a nice 2017 model next year no need to get a 2018. For me those new lights with the lines made a huge difference

I'm not sure if the trim without the LED DRLs has different tail lights too. Maybe you saw that to give you the impression that these LEDs are new.
Hell, I'm not even sure if there is a headlight version without LED DRLs offered on the C300 Coupe (C205).

Those lights are not new. The C205 has always had these lights.

I can't even find a photo of the 'non light package' tail light for C300 coupe.

From my understanding, that's only true for the C300 (W205) Sedans. All C300 coupes have the same taillights (at least in the US) and those are the ones pictures in the OP's post. Unlike the sedan which has the halogens as a base headlight, the 2017 & 2018 C300 coupes have the LED headlights as a minimum in the US but you can upgrade to the Dual "Active" LED headlights as an option.

i think the line light is so dated, its been around for a decade on the mercedes cars,I changed mines on the sedan c class to the new shape new tick tail lights and im trying like a bear to find a better option for the lights in the photos on this post (my preferance)
Im looking for a kinda 2 straight bar type of light as a tail light :-)
no joy yet will contact china, they are great at coming uo with anything you ask for :-)
