Opening trunk - no foot sensor option?
Hello Everyone:
I just picked up my new 2019 C-Class Cabriolet yesterday with all the technology and convenience packages. I'm in Canada if that makes a difference.
I'm surprised there is no trunk-mounted button to open the trunk, I have to get the key out of my pocket. I thought maybe it had one of those foot-sensors that would allow me to open if in proximity of the key, but no joy. Is this an option, or am I missing something?
Thanks so much

I would think you're missing something. There should be a button on the front lower half of the driver's door to open the boot. If you've got the hands free package, that should include the option to wave your foot under the rear of the car to open the boot. The key must be on you to do that though. Or it could be that the cabrio doesn't come with those options...

There is a switch on the door but that doesn't help if you are walking back to your car with groceries, or simply walking to your car period. What's the point of proximity keyless entry if you have to take your keys out of your pocket.

Very possible that Cabriolet doesn't come with this - but no matter the manufacturer or model the wave your foot under the car thing isn't 100% accurate. I have it on my E350 and I never have to take my keys out of my pocket, but it works only about 80% of the time. Have had the same issue on other non-MB cars as well.

I have keyless access, but don't have the "kick to open trunk" feature and I can confirm that the only way to open the trunk from the outside is to use the key. It sucks.

Can't you push on the trunk Mercedes logo to open your trunk? On the E450 CAB you just push the top part of the Mercedes Circle and it opens the trunk. Also, kicking under the bumper works as well.

I have 2018 cabriolet and this is my only complaint with this car ! You have to take your key out or open the door and activate the trunk .switch .Its annoying , but I'm happy because the rest of the car is so perfect !!

No, the C-class Cabriolet doesn't have an outside button on the trunk to open it. The trunk Mercedes logo has the rear view camera behind it, but it does not act as a button to open the trunk like on the E-class cabrio.

That's wild. I did know this. How difficult would that have been for the C to have this as well.
