Angry Mirror Flapping

The hook that hold the spring inside the mirror broke off on mine. I tried to glue it back with super glue and epoxy, it didn't work.
Does anyone have a trick or solution for this? (short of changing the whole mirror assembly)

I probably need the guts for the driver side. Does any of you that upgraded to blinking or folding mirror want to sell your original one? (Driver side, yr 98 and Up)
BTW my car is 99 C280.

Please email me at spriro@hotmail.com .

I got that fixed. I brought it to a shop. One of the technician drill a hole where that hook broke off and attach the spring. Tipped him $20. The best feeling I've ever spent for $20. The new part cost $300.

If you can show the picture that will be helpful for other members. I'm sure one of this day someone will break his/hers. It was a bad design not being able to fold the mirrors.

mine broke on the pass side, i drilled a hole where the hook used to be and put an "eye bolt" with a nut and washer in the hole. then hooked the spring to that, worked great.
i added a picture, its real bad because its raining right now, try to get a better one later.
