Exclamation Any scraping problems with 8.5J 18 inch alloys on lowered W202?

Hi all, did you have any scraping problems of any kind, front or back, fully turning the front wheels, with your 18s? Talking about lowered models (Sport,Esprit) with 225/40/18 tires and 8.5J width. Those with 225/45/18 tires REALLY need to give me their feedback. Thanks.

It depends on the offset.

what do you mean by all w202 have the same? Every wheel has its own offset you just need to get the correct one. Opinum offset for w202 is 35ET

if you run a 225/40/18 tire and 18x8.5 you should be A okay.

i got 19x8.5 with 225/35/19 and its fine but the offset is 35 perfect!

Yes my wheels are 35 offset, sorry about the previous thread, i mixed em up a little . Im just asking because i dont want to buff my fenders or put spacers or anything, i like to keep it as original as possible. And by the way, why say no to chrome? I think that mercedes are maybe the only cars that look nice having chrome touches, not overdoing it offcourse... Anyway you ve been great help, thanks for your answer bro and the rest of you guys!

Something else... If I put 225/45 /18 tyres, do you think im going to have a problem front or rear? Thanks again.

your cruise control may stop working becuase the overall diameter of the wheel is bigger than stock diameter.

I would just use the 40 series

I run a 225/35/19 and a 265/30/19 on Nitto 555 ZRs and i dont get any rub, i think if i went with 235 on the front it would be hell to pay.

My cruise control? Are you sure? Im wearing 16's at the moment with winter tyres 215/55/16, they are quite huge so do you think it will make such a difference? What are my options if it that happens indeed? And the reason i would like to go from 40 to 45 is because of the bumps and the sidewalks waiting around in the city to mess up my rims. Do you think i will have any scraping if i do that? Bear in mind that my 18s are 8.5J all around (all 4).
Thanks so much for your effort guys.
