Should I Buy?? 2000 C230 Sport
Advice needed:
2000 c230 kompressor with the sport package and has 45,000 miles for $13,000. The interior is flawless with the two tone leather, 6 disc changer, and sunroof. The exterior has some dents, the largest near the drivers rear taillight. The dealership, kinda corny, is luxury motors. They have authorized bentley, saleen, and mitsubishi dealers around chicago as well as their luxury motors sales outlets. They share a building with Mercedes of Hoffman Estates so I had the dealer do their used car check, went over the entire car with one of their technicians. The only issues found:
Front bumper replaced at some point, some painted panels but done well
needs flex disc replaced ($490?) quoted
Rear driveshaft reseal ($450?)
and then some minor stuff like shifter bushing, B service, mercedes coolant
Ran diagnostics and all was well and the carfax is clean. Local car. Let me know what you think.
Here's the car:

Thats a pretty good price for what seems like a nice car. You may be lucky that its resprayed. I would check the car very closely for rust, especially around the door rub strips. I have spent nearly $3000 having panels redone. I would go for it, it looks really nice.

Bought it
I bought the car earlier this week. Ended up paying $13,000 for it. The interior still smells new and the leather looks like it has never been sat on. I am going to a dent place on Saturday to address the dent by the trunk. I am very happy with the purchase and have surprisingly gotten a lot of attention even though its the 'base' mercedes. I am sad to give up my 1985 190e though, got me through college without one breakdown. Question, is the c230k with the two tone sport option a full leather package?
Thanks!
Thanks!

one last thing
I got a full warranty for 4 yrs/100,000 miles for $3,000. Covers radio, transmission, engine, mostly everything. Although I have read about the hard downshifting from 2nd to 1st and have noticed it slightly in the benz. Have people been able to get a "fix" under warranty or is it just the way these transmissions are?

Good luck with your new purchase.I love the C230K - fun car to drive and the "sport" suspension matches nicely with the car.Enjoy!
