How do you remove the side mirror covers?

How do you remove the side mirror covers?
I remember seeing a post but can't locate (it said something about a clip). I see the clip but it doesn't want to snap out of place. What's the trick? Thanks.

I figured it out. Bend the mirrors forward and the flat C clip needs to be removed. Afterwards, the cover slides right off. Anyone doing this I would suggest replacing the clips because while they flex, it's hard to flex them back to original position and mirror cover won't fit snug.

I came across this older thread while searching for info about the OEM mirror assembly.
To set the record "straight" the thin metal C shaped clip is NOT a replacement item, it is part of the $600 mirror/motor assembly, so don't break it.
