cruise control

they are a great tool for long distances and fuel economy. c230's one was great till the car went sick...for the moment is in limp mode.

Have you tried resetting things via a battery disconnect or a handheld scanner? I would reset things and then start checking for codes that reappear to see why it is going into limp-home mode.

You are going to have to put out some effort and be more descriptive if you expect anyone to be able to help you trouble-shoot this. Exactly what codes is your car producing?

2 things it may be

(1) If you have used the cruise control often or it is a second hand car: unsure of the past useage then it may be the lever itself malfunctioning.
Check for slop in the lever itself, the switch may be worn if this is the case.

(2)The cruise control has an amplifier module in the circuit that may have gone bad. Check to see if you have any function of the lever itself with a triangle actuating on dash. I had one replaced luckly under warranty, very $$$ unit.

Have you replaced the brake light switch?

The cruise control on my '98 C230 just stopped working as well. There are no lights or other indications of a problem and the switch seems tight.... is there a fuse that might need replacement??
