What do you recommend mod wise to change the look?

Pictured here is my 2000 C280 Sport. I already blacked out the lights in the back. To me, the back shape is really square in comparison with the newer body styles - and I'd like to break that up a bit if possible.

Now, here's my idea, see if you think it is reasonable.

1.) Paint only the bottom part of the back bumper black, so it looks like a diffuser - I think this will break up the square shape a bit. Any idea how much this would cost? (Just to paint this bottom portion on the back black.) The exhaust is not visible on this model, so that may look a little funny - but I am not sure if I want to put a fake exhaust there to mimic the AMG C43 model, I rather just keep it like that.

2.) Add a small trunk spoiler - Do you think black would be better instead of silver?

3.) Add a back window/roof spoiler - again black or silver?

This black vs silver theme may look good - it is the sort of stuff that works well on something like a Black Series AMG CLK - but maybe can work here too to make the back a bit "sportier".

My intent is to keep the original feel and class of the car without making it vulgar, but at the same time updating the look and sportiness a bit.

Here is the back picture:

I thought about maybe putting an AMG C43 style bumper on it. That bumper is a bit rounder, and I could then put the dual exhaust on the back - and paint the diffuser-like area matte-black. A black trunk spoiler would be great, too.

AMGC - do you have any pictures of your car? The mods sound awesome, I'd love to see it! (I might have already if it is in the picture thread)

I think it looks good as is. But if you add body parts, go with silver. IMO, my black 18" HRE wheels for sale would be a nice addition

Follow the link to the Classifieds posting:

The fronts should fit W202 Sport models. I will be glad to contact HRE and confirm fitment for your car if you're interested.

I want to add a trunk wing/spoiler - a very small one - in black. Silver would be safer, but I think that black may provide a nice contrast and a more aggressive look - what do you guys think? Have you seen this on a w202?

Rondo, I have a Silver W202 C230 with a few of the changes that you're looking to do... I ordered a rear window spoiler two weeks ago which should be in any time, at which point I'm going to get the roof and window spoiler painted.

I installed a silver lip spoiler on the trunk yesterday but don't have any pictures of it yet.

Here's a picture of it on Friday, before the lip spoiler was installed (I've also since put new tires on the front because the 245's were rubbing like crazy).

Wheels are AMG Monoblock II's, springs are Eibach ProKit, struts are KYB, clear corners, 10mm spacers front, 20mm spacers back (hub centric), 50mm lug bolts front, 60mm lug bolts back.

Looks great - I need to change my springs soon, where is the best place to get this done, and what type is generally the best to get for this car? (For comfort/handling)

I don't think changing springs is too difficult, so most reputable shops should be able to. I would go to a performance-oriented shop if you have the choice. An alignment is needed after the lowering of course.

It's my understanding the Eibach springs are a better ride while the H&R's are more aggressive (a little lower). Probably splitting hairs though.

I would look at getting sport shocks at the same time. Bilstein Sports maybe. Or do an H&R cup kit which is a spring/shock set.

Coilover kits are an option. They give you ride height, maybe bound and rebound adjustability, depending on the brand/model. This is the most expensive option though. Bilstein, KW, Tein, etc.
