Soundsystem W202

Does anyone know if there is a subwoofer included with the original Mercedes Soundsystem in the W202?

I think there is when you order the bose package or on the 99-00 of the C280, I think??? Although I don't recall where its supposed to be located.

'96 C220

I've got a '96 with a sub-woofer. It's in the trunk deck just like the rear mounted speakers in the trunk, should be on the left side.

I've got some problems imagine this because i can't understand all the words

Have you got fotos?
I think our cars are different in the Back! The 202 up tu 7/97 has room for 4 speakers in the back! After 7/97 only 2

I'll try to make this plane and simple.

Room for 4, if you have 3, you have a subwoofer.

3 speakers = yes subwoofer

2 speakers = no subwoofer

Hmm, my 1999 C43 with Bose has two subwoofers in the rear deck (only two holes). When these are disconnected, there is no bass.

I think in the new model there are just other speakers but in the same size...

I thought there ist a 10" or 12" speaker somewhere hidden...

Speaking on the comments by Scorchie, I guess technically you could consider all the speakers in the rear deck to be sub-woofers as you've got your mid-range, etc in other spots in the car.

Why you would get the 'sub-woofer' package and simply get just another speaker, I dunno. "More Bang for the Buck", or in this case Boom for the Buck... ?

I can get the MB P/N off the speaker if anybody is interested in rigging additional speakers into their rear deck.
