And did it require any modifications (spacers, shorter bolts)?
and what is the max tire size I could could use.
These are the rims in question...

They currently have 245/45R17's mounted on all four
Thanks in advance for any assistance.

I have a W202 with 235x35x19 rims&tyres on, plus it's the Sport model (Lower than the rest of the C class range) and its pretty much borderline. 245's are pretty wide, and being a 45 profile may make them bigger than mine overall - or pretty close. You should be ok. Can't you test them first?

Are you on a stock suspenion setup? What are the dimensions of the wheels? 245 sounds kind of iffy but I'm sure others can help weigh in with more background info
thanks for the responses. i ended up using universal 26mm bolts from Autozone and putting 205/50/17's in the front. might change the rears to 215/50/17's - but the 245's fit just fine now (just a tad wider looking than the fronts)

245 is too wide for the front, max 235. Also the bolt size for the new e-class is m14, and w202 is m12 so the wheel will not bolt correctly and be dangerous.
here they are installed (before and after)...
the bolts i used are 12mm x 1.5, 26mm thread length ball seat - sold at Autozone.

i was thinking about putting rims from a newer model on my 96 c class
how do you go about ordering them from the dealer?

rims look great.
I'd like to get a new set on mine, but i've just purchased tires, so unless i get a great deal.
but i've heard that when they swap rims on new models in dealerships they sell the swapped ones for very cheap!
