Just got my transmission fluid changed at dealership
So I have a 1998 C230 with 130k on the clock. First tranny fluid change was done at 70k or so. I'm very busy and decided to have the dealership do my tranny fluid change. So I spoke with the dealership and said I want it completely drained including torque converter etc. He said sure. So my total was $316 out the door. On the reciept they only charged me for 4 quarts, which leads me to believe torque converter was not dealt with. They also charged me for the filter, pan gasket, seal ring and lock pin. He said they use a machine to to suck out all the fluid and that it put all new fluid in but only charged you for 4 because the machine always has left over in it...basically bull**** from what I could figure out. What are your thoughts? Is it possible that a machine could suck it all out, but why charge me for only 4 quarts?
Seems like you can't trust no one these days and shoulda just done it myself.

They had to drop the pan IF they really changed the gasket and filter. Same thing if they did the torque converter. IF they did that, then most of the fluid except for what was in the converter would have had to have been drained just to drop the pan. Why would they suck it out too? Additionally, why did they charge you for a seal ring (assuming this is the washer on the pan bolt?) if they sucked it out instead of just draining it? You either benefitted by being charged less or you got screwed because they didn't do everything as asked. Hard to tell which is true.
This reminds me of brake fluid and coolant "changes" where they just suck the fluid out of the brake reservoir and nothing more or they drain the radiator and don't flush/drain the block.

Your 220 doesn't use 7 liters of synthetic transmission fluid at $15 (or more) per liter though The lowest I have seen from a good indy that included a new filter, synthetic fluid and gasket was $265

Can get Amsoil or Redline syn tranny fluid for under ten bucks. With
filter and labor should still run around half of what you paid.
