Question Best Wheels for ’98 C230 (W202)

I thought I would pose this question to the experts in hopes of gaining your insight. I’m about to purchase some new wheels for my ’98 C230 (W202) and I wanted to know what everyone else likes, just in case I missed a good looking wheel set for the C230. Right now I like the 18x8 & 18x9 combo for the Chrome AMG Aero Monoblock II, but the pics of the 19” Lowenhart BR5’s looks amazing. I wouldn’t want to go rolling any fenders, so the 18x8 & 18x9 combo for the Lowenhart BR5’s would be my only choice. I’m assuming that I need to do the Prokit springs at the same time, so I do plan on lowering it a touch (1.2”). Any ideas on the best wheels for the W202, suggestion on lowering, pics, staggered wheel setups, and advice is much appreciated. I only want to do this once, so please help me to do it right.

You've already picked the best. (in my opinion) I'm just not sure I'd go with chrome. Those sizes and width will work too.

If your car is a dark color, I think the Carlsson 1/6 Evo diamond would be the best choice

Nice choice, but. . .

the Carlsson 1/6 Evo diamond look a little to "stock" for me. I must admit that they are the right price (i.e. $2000 w/tires). In the end the value of the Carlsson 1/6 Evo diamond may win based on value. I like the chrome as well, because if I went from a stock 15" silver wheel to an aftermarket 18" silver wheel I doubt anyone would notice the difference. But I don't want to make the car look to ghetto either.

3 inches bigger and you think there will be no difference? Have you seen a W202 with 18's yet?

don't do chrome on the Carlssons. The diamond finish looks good as is.

Don't forget to get some Cool Brake Rotors/Calipers if you decided to go with Lowenharts

uc ant lower once. u need to do it couple times. there is no telling how much the drop is. so if u liek the drop the 1st time then u lucked out. for me, i did it 3 times till i got my drop.

if u want difference get 19's that is real difference. i quote some one. "no1 is gonna care if u got 17's or 18's on ur c class, u need to go 19's people will start to nitice you"

Alright, alright . . .

I love the Lowenhart BR5’s and I totally appreciate the advice. But 19’s will mean that I have to roll the fenders and Lowenhart’s could mean Brakes and Calipers (Good thinking on that one). That’s getting in a little to deep for me. The cost of Lowenhart’s alone is enough to break the bank, let alone rolling fenders, breaks and calipers. I need to keep the cost down, so unfortunately it may mean going with the AMG’s or Carlson’s. I appreciate all your advice. Keep it coming if you have any other ideas.
