1999 C280 Odometer Display Problem
The numbers on my 1999 C280 stopped displaying properly about 2 months ago. I recently moved from California to Tennessee and initially though it could possibly be due to the humidity.
Although I've looked through the forum I'm really not seeing much on the subject but I did find this https://mbworld.org/forums/c-class-w...ease-help.html
"shimming the ribbon cable connector that connects to the back to the instrument cluster at the odometer?"
I have no idea how one would do this but it seems the be the only info I can find. Anyone have any other ideas?
Much thanks...

2000 C230 Kompressor Sport
It could be a case of a busted cluster light bulb. My 2000 C230's odometer stopped displaying the numbers. I tried to put a flashlight directly on the odometer display and I could see numbers but they weren't illuminated that is why I knew it was the busted cluster light bulb was the culprit.
I had to buy the cluster puller tool (Part # 140 589 02 33 00) to pull out the cluster. At the back of the cluster are the bulb(s) that you need to replace. In my case, it was the (Beige Base - 12v 1.5w Part # N 910 141 00 00 00) and viola! the odometer illuminated again.
