car starts for a second then dies??
yesterday while driving (merc c200 1997), i accelerated to overtake another car, halfway my car just went off!! the car would start and then die in a second .. tried several times but no use .. even accelerating wouldnt stop it from turning off ..
this morning I went back to the car to check it up and it started .. i drove it for few hundred meters to home and when I stopped it went off .. now as soon as the car starts, I have to accelerate to keep it on otherwise it would just go off .. initially I thought my fuel pump was dead but today Im confused and not sure whats causing it .. any help would be appreciated

try to have it diagnosed thru the dealer's diagnostic computer. chances are, your slide idle control actuator is already fried. just a hunch; given the limited description you enumerated above.
this is what it looks like (i also indicated the part number as file name):

For my problem , i ended up solving the problem , i hd to find out that the actuator motor hd no power supply . The reason wz a faulty high voltage supply .... I replaced it and the vehicle is nw ok
